I have to admit I’m a gun snob myself. I’m very unhappily using a crossbow right now because I couldn’t justify the dps loss of using the stakethrower. I’m willing to give up a small amount of dps for dwarven pride, but 150dps was a bit much. Hopefully soon I’ll get a heroic stakethrower and I can put the silly crossbow back in the bank where it belongs!

With regards to Rowans, it’s amazing how many people make snap judgements on it without looking at the details. It’s likely to be a bigger upgrade for MM specs than SV, since MM gets far more dps from weapon damage than SV does. It’s also more likely to be an upgrade if you can make use of the hit on it. But the dps on it is high and the speed definitely helps with 2pc T10 uptime, so for many folks it’s a solid gear choice. I do feel bad for the folks who have to deal with the tank gun prejudice.

yep i agree theres to much hit on gear…..ive got no talent points in F A but im still at 336 hit lol
and no 4% is a bit low pvp is 5%

I agree with those that posted before me:

The phrase describes a model situation where, if you’d be allowed to change more than one thing, but in an environment where you assume certain things being constant, which change whould have the greatest/the best/what kind of effect?

The way you described it was good though. What WoW players mostly want to know is, of all possible major changes (i.e. the ones you listed), which one affects dps the most? You’ve answered that question well.

Ok i have a question not related to any posts. im like fully geared now with 5732 gearscore, But now im working on pvp speccing. I dont see any articles on like the best pvp talent build, or best way to gem for pvp or anything like that….help me out here. Im not getting owned in arena’s but its not going as great as i want to. i need the INNS and the OUTS. thanks

Correct. Since the 3% damage already is part of FI, and the arcane damage is already part of FI, the only difference is the 9% buff to Steady Shot. This translates to about a 1.5% overall dps boost.

unless im just behind the curve with this BM stuff (not a BM fan personally), i read something today that made me go hmmm.. it was my understanding that initially the FI change replaced the buff to arcane with a buff to steady. today, ghost posted this, my emphasis:

In 3.3.3, Ferocious Inspiration rank 3 says:
All party and raid members have all damage increased by 3% within 100 yards of your pet. In addition, increases the damage dealt by Arcane Shot **AND** Steady Shot by 9%.

I’ve sneaked through the portal in Occulas before, but only as a hunter. If you FD just by the portal, you leave combat and can click it while feigned….leaves the rest of your group to battle through again without you but it’s a sneaky trick, could possibly work for rogues too

I wonder if twocents mugs Topper McNab for giggles…
I moving through what could be termed the “advanced/intermediate” phase of Hunter ability at present, and raid ICC10/25 regularly (I share top Hunter spot with one other in our Guild): Haven’t hit any advice here that has held me back; My dps output has steadily increased, as well as my grasp of movement (jump-shot kiting ftw!!).
And it’s a lot easier to digest WHU than going to Elitist jerks, and wading through…well…the elitist jerks…

Hey, love these vids, and the post on WoW.com.

I’ve noticed that when I dispel his enrage, it acts like a taunt. And he hits HARD. so maybe it’s best just to not remove the enrage at all.
