Per the feedback I’ve received after yesterday’s article, here’s some changes that I’ll be implementing soon:
Aspect of the Cat: Reduce falling damage. Lol. I consider this the “minor glyph” of aspects.
Aspect of the Rabbit: Jump Higher. I can think of some boss fights where this would have come in handy (jumping platforms for the positive/negative charge guys in Naxx…I’m forgetting the name. Or the Safety Dance).
Removed Magic Resistance Aspect: Too hard to balance with the general loss of resistance buffs among all classes.
Added PvP aspects: there’s 3-4 decent ideas I saw that I chalked up as possibilities. They will be added.
Expectations: A brief paragraph stating that we don’t intend for Blizzard to implement ALL of these. We’re providing options from which to choose.
Button Bloat: I will address my opinion that 90% of our button bloat issues stem from rotational abilities, not utility abilities like Aspects. I see this as mostly a non-issue with Aspects, especially if a longer cooldown is implemented to them (30 seconds, 1 min., etc.)
Also, to everyone suggesting a “pet meld” ability, that would be a massively unique ability that would introduce all sorts of questions and mechanics issues. I’m not saying it isn’t possible, but Aspects are NOT the place to introduce such an ability.
…I think we’re nearing the end of tweaks to this entry. I hope to have the next up on Monday.
Also, what do we think of completing the HCERP prior to Blizzcon, and trying to promote it that week? Excellent marketing opportunity, or drown in the deluge of other announcements? I’m undecided currently.
