Lately, I’ve been trying to categorize where my guides lie compared to the other websites out there that release similar content, PvP guides/videos etc, especially regarding the quality of content, as well as the time invested in each guide. I enjoy writing and I have fun writing for WHU. The guides I make are designed to appeal all the way from those who are just starting out on their hunter in PvP, to those who have already broken through to duelist. There are many better players out there who could spend their time writing better guides, and there are quite a few that do, but it seems unless you’re willing to pay a monthly subscription for it, there’s very little out there for you to learn from. My guides are written for those who don’t wish to pay an extra $5 on their monthly subscription to WoW, yet still want to improve their hunter PvP game. It’s not written for rank 1′s or Gladiator hunters, but for the majority of players.

For that reason, and because writing these guides is a hobby for me, I will never charge for content. I appreciate the support of those who take their time to leave comments and feed back, and look forward to banging out the PvP content over the next few weeks once my hunter catches up in gear. I am also constantly striving to improve myself so that the quality of content will also improve. Also mind you that what I’ve posted so far is just the “Beginner’s guide”. There are “Advanced” guides to come.

Game Awareness and Positive Mindset -

There are a few free videos from the blokes over @ Skill-capped.com that I wanted to bring attention to. I had planned to write an article on the same subject, but since there’s very decent video already covering it, I’ll be using that. Credit goes purely to Skillcapped and Zelyx who made the movie.

*Bonus* New YouTube Movies! -

I am starting to upload random 2′s and 3′s games on my youtube channel in preparation for “Tapington I“. At the moment I’m just testing fraps/vegas for the best rendering settings. No clue when Tapington 1 will be ready for release, though a trailer is in the works.

I’ve also opened a new email address to send all the notices I get from WHU to. I’ve also created it for the purpose of answering questions directly, as well as a place where you can contact me and have a much better chance of getting an answer to a question, or having an idea/suggestion read. The email is [email protected]. Feel free to send any questions, inquiries or requests to that address, and I’ll be sure to answer each one.

Okay, Duke’s commenting privileges have been revoked. For those curious, he’s one of those pvp players who speaks in broken english, flexing nuts about how awesome he is and his awesome ratings on all sorts of servers, how wrong everyone else is — and he also refuses to name his character or show any armory link to prove any of his boasts.

He repeatedly made personal attacks and insults, which is a violation of the WHU commenting policy (www.warcrafthuntersunion.com/faq/). He had a lot of chances, and blew ‘em all, and is not the kind of person we want here.

@Duke – Ok, given a choice between listening to Tap or you… I’ll take Tap. All you’ve done is swamp the signal with a lot of noise. If you have something constructive to say, please add it to the conversation.

Tap – Thanks for the articles. Please keep writing and learning. I enjoy reading them and look forward to your future efforts.

    Regards

{edit} Frost dealt with the troll, so there’s no need for my comments anymore.

^ this. Especially the welcome back and hope you’re here to stay!

Great to have you back, Tap. In Cata I have totally skipped PvE and went for PvP instead because of your guides. They helped me getting started. Keep up the good work =)

I would also like to give a small thank you as well. Before I found the WHU guild I was pretty much done with WoW. Now that you are writing these guides I have started a PVP hunter to give that another chance as well. I extend to you many thanks (my wife not so much:D)

    • Dàire says:

Tap your guides are very useful, I am a casual PvPer and I love reading your guides, they make a huge difference and I actually have started pawning classes that i used to mount up and run away from. I will be happy to post here every week if need be but you need all the encouragement you can get to keep writing. It takes balls to put your say out there in the community which is flooded with all these “know it all’s” and i bow my wrogen head to you and Frost who make hunters that every little bit more special to play.. Hey Tap, Just wanted to let you know where I am with PvP cos I think there’s probably a few more like me.
I’m a raider, I decided to do some arenas purely to get the gun. I discovered arenas are actually quite fun :)
Me and my RL mate have a 2s team comprising 2 hunters (I guess that’s probably bad for a start but what the hell lol). He’s BM, I’m SV (tried MM but I just hate it. + I like the CC from Wyvern Sting)
Anyway, when it all goes well we rock, we pick a target, open up from Camo on him I’ll Wyvern the other guy and target is dead in seconds, then we clear CCd guy and job done.
Problem is when rogues/warrior etc are all up in your face stunning you. What the hell you meant to do then? I sit mashing my detterence/disengage and nothing works. help please with some tactics for getting out of this :)
    Thx for the guides

Long time lurker. Just thought it was important to give you a thanks for writing those guides. I had all but deleted my hunter from my 85 stable. Reading WHU site and reading the PVP guides, I had a GM restore my hunter, and I have been PVPing like a mad man… I have found a joy in playing an incredible class in WoW..Thank you keep up the great work
