New Podcast Starting This Weekend

Posted: by Frostheim

Note: this was indeed an April Fool’s post.

Most of the regular listeners to the Hunting Party Podcast probably won’t be surprised to hear that I’m leaving the show. It was some great times, but as I’m sure you’re all too well-aware, Euripides and I just don’t get along at all, and what you hear on the air is only the barest part of it. I honestly think he’d be happier doing a podcast about feral druids, which is where his heart is truly pulling him.

In place of the Hunting Party Podcast, I’m super excited to announce that I’m going to be doing a new weekly podcast with Michele Morrow as co-host! Actually, the show was Michele’s idea, and I thought it was a great one. Better yet,  Alisaunder will join us as our moderator and Twitter Wrangler (we’ll be incorporating Twitter heavily in the Q&A portion of the show). The new show isn’t strictly about hunters, however with two hunter hosts I’m sure we’ll have plenty of hunter talk in there.

So please join us, right here on the WHU (no pesky other site to go to) this Sunday at 1pm central time, for the WoW Lovecast, where we talk about Life, Love, and WoW.

In WoW Lovecast we’re taking a broader look at WoW and how it informs and shapes our real-life relationships. From friendships to rivalries to romantic trysts, we’ll be covering it all on WoW Lovecast. We’re also going to have a rough theme framework for each episode where we discuss and issue in depth before moving on to engage with our listeners in a very personal Q&A session. Some of the topics already planned include:

  • How to get your loved one to play WoW
  • Making the next step: how to move an in-game relationship to an out of game relationship
  • Grinding for love in WoW: how to meet single people who share your interests in-game
  • Perils of in-game relationships
  • OMGERP: how properly handled ERP can add spice and reinvigorate your relationship
  • The perfect wedding: themes and thoughts on in-game wedding ceremonies
  • Love by class: a look at what main class choice reveals about a person’s romantic side
  • Bedroom achievements: an achievement and leveling system you and your partner can use in the bedroom to keep things lively

Michele and I were up for hours talking about the project, and the ideas just kept coming. I honestly don’t think we could ever run out of topics for the show. And when we add in our intimate Q&A, I think that Lovecast really has the potential to be a huge hit in the WoW world.

For those of you who are only interested in the hunter side of things, fear not, I’ll still be blogging here about hunters (and maybe sometimes love) every day.

So please! Retweet and spread the word about the WoW Lovecast — we hope to make our first show a huge one!

I think we all know Frost has no perspective on Nelf like lovie stuff.

  4. I-CEE says:

ok not going for it but can we talk ERP with Michele lol

  5. Ozolin says:

I was up late last night finsihing Glory of the Ulduar Raider (25) and working on about 3 hrs of sleep, so I was pretty much all the way through this post, blithely thinking “it sure sounds strange but hey, it could work!” before I remembered the date today! LOL Good one, Frost, very funny indeed!

  6. Hulder says:

You had me right up to the first mention of the “new show”‘s title. But I simply cannot imagine Frost in anything with the word “love” in its title :-D

The rest was just hilarious, thanks for the giggle!

  7. Juniez says:

    Nice april fools ^^

  8. Xanthius says:

In order to include a larger audience, I think you should also discuss ERP involving our pets. Who hasn’t spent a few minutes thinking about that rhino backside shaking along next to our toons?

  9. Riskybizniz says:

I read the whole post thinking “looks like the booze got lose!” then I happened to see the date…good one

  10. GTyoungblood says:

Ugh… I took it hook, line, and sinker. Even after I caught Blizzards as soon as I saw it.

  11. elfutureman says:

    WOW love ruined my guild!

  12. Dreaux says:

Love it. Have to admit, I thought it’d definitely be entertaining and was looking forward to eavesdropping the strangely beguiling beauty and the wrists podcast. At least I thought you two could make it amusingly entertaining.
    #epicfooled

  13. Damsbo says:

I didn’t realize it was an april fools until i read the comments.. *hide*
I thougt we had lost you frost, and.. *weeps*

  14. Sofeladese says:

I honestly thought this was serious for a minute. That’s what I get for not sleeping for three days.

Still, ERP with Michele Morrow. Me gusta.

  15. Polyxena says:

Awesome! I’d love to get your take on single-target SV and impotence issues! =D

  16. Dorianchika says:

Belly laugh! My daughter is looking at me funny across the room. Our emo-less perplexed robot of a logic machine to do a Love Podcast. Thats rich.

    Happy April Fools Folks =)

  17. pants says:

I am beggining to realise how long I’ve been awake for that it took me reading all the other comments to understand what was up :/

  18. Loverlie says:

    For a second I took this seriously…APRIL FOOL’S!

  19. iThumbs says:

    Good one!
Funny thing is, as i was reading the first paragraph i thought ot myslelf, “Yea…i had picked up on hostility between them two for a while”..
Gotta love the wow comunities talent for April fools gags!

  20. jeffreynommer says:

    Thanks crabby

  21. Gevauden says:

FINALLY. Let’s be honest, we were all getting a little tired of the empirical data, rigorous testing, and concise analyses.

Here’s hoping you have Hrist on occasionally to balance out all the love-stuff. He can come stomping through spreading the hate every few episodes, it’ll give you guys some nice counterpoints to address.

  22. Quadilious says:

Woot Frostheim! Maybe now I can finally learn how to calm Mrs Quad’s nerd rage when I am 0.00001 seconds too late with a freeze trap and a mob touches her, because nothing drops your dps faster than a ceramic cat to the fore head.

    • Talyn says:

Epic! As the spouse of a stubborn Huntard who’s traps are always too slow Dash it! I approve of Mrs. Quad’s direct methods!

  23. Sabre5674 says:

I don’t normally comment, but thank god i read the comments and was reminded it was april fools day. I was ticked after reading the post and was about to delete WHU from my bookmarks. Your webcast is the only one I listen to. Im glad you arent really taking that away from us.

  24. Sniperburte says:

i signed on today just to see what was up frost’s uncommonly hairy sleeve for april fool’s. happy to see i wasn’t disappointed, but i think my wrapping a moving pad around a fire hydrant and telling someone to pick it up and put it on the truck edged you out this time. thanx for the laugh.

  25. kryna says:

totally fished in…until the topic of the supposed new podcast was explained. thanks for the joke! /slap

  26. Beergasm says:

Wow…I had my bullshit detector on all day and I actually fell for this one, somehow. Boy do I feel dumb.

    Frostheim 1, me 0.

  27. Hrist says:

Maybe I know him too well but I find April Fool’s jokes are better if:

    1) It’s believable – You should have just gone with a normal hunter podcast and nothing so outlandish.
    2) It’s something you really want – Like the Wings of Chaos or Divine Wings. It’s obvious those aren’t real but it makes me sad that it isn’t.

    • Frostheim says:

Personally, I think the key is to start off with something believable but newsworthy, but then have it get more and more ridiculous as you go until it becomes obvious that it’s an April Fools. I’ve never been a huge fan of the kind that is meant purely as deception.

I also like the ones that are just plain good jokes. Like, search for “helvetica” in Google today.

      • Ril says:

as ist is too late now :(
        what happened?

  28. Kayko says:

About time we get what we wanted.. Michelle and feral druids! Sorry to see ya go, hope that rouge doesn’t get you too often on the field of battle, perhaps you can find a draeneie pocket healer. :)

before you go, how are the chimera traps on the PTR? they sound exciting!

  29. Ryshat says:

    *slow golf clap*

Bravo sir. Bravo indeed. It was a wonderful lead in that had just enough of a ring of tuth to it to cacth one offguard. Then the slow dawning as one reads on.

The most well crafted Fool’s Day jokes I’ve seen all day.

  30. prochaos says:

jesus christ monkey balss this had me going till i red the first reply, funny guy !

  31. Rolgorf says:

Jeeeez I was this > < close to closing out Frostheims Hairy Wrist advocacy group on Facebook. I thought you were a lost cause. What a relief when I remembered the date!!!!

  32. Sidoen says:

I was fooled right into the comments. I was reading thinking “I never thought Frost would be so childish after working with those people for so long, how could he ruin himself like this.” Then I kept reading and I thought, “Ah, he thought he could get a better deal going with Michelle, the fiend!” Then I saw lovecast and I thought, “Hopefully the current guides will stay here long enough for me to find a new source of information.”

  33. Crosshair says:

    Well played.

  34. Traquer says:

    Well played indeed.

  35. randle says:

His April fools post could have also been saying the latest HPP was on iTunes.

  36. Poisonhorn says:

    Holy crap….. you got me.
That’s the first thing all day to fool me, WELL PLAYED SIR!

    Armory me,
    Sergeant Poisonhorn on Aggramar US

  37. Kemanorel says:

I was hoping for a more scandalous holiday blog, “WHU guild hacked, mass race change to worgen!” or “After blizzard finally broke the hunter class so blatantly, I’m remaking WHU into a Death Knight Tribute page for all who are joining me in my reroll.” perhaps “Zeherah announces true identity; Apparently the powers-that-be behind one of the most reliable and up to date hunter spreadsheets recently posted in the Hunter offical forums, “I regret my long deception in order to assist my favorite class’s community in an attempt to expunge my own guilt is many cases, but I can no longer hide. Zeherah is the alt I play when not posting under my true identity of Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street….” or a simple twist like “… the beard itching constantly during encounters was the last straw, so I regretfully announce my upcoming race change to goblin for frostheim. I decided against Troll or Orc due to vertigo induced by camera height above roughly 3’6″ ingame and maybe now I can finally afford my stupid engineering motorcycle parts from K3. To those left behind in Stormwind, Ironforge and so forth, don’t fret. I’m sure you’ll notice me the next time you queue for Tol Barad!”

Some more plausible or obvious than others, but then, I’m an amateur writer compared to a more experienced blog author, most of the commentary that I put time into is spent pointing out overlooked or little known tidbits of awesomeness, like “Glyph of Eternal Healer Devotion” also known as “Glyph of Raptor Strike”

  38. aveeno says:

lol, i was seriously thinking … get a life!!! lol – you fool me
