Today over at WoW Insider, I have a guide to all of the new hunter spell alerts that 4.0.1 gave us.
Among the host of new things patch 4.0.1 brought us hunters — including new talents and rotations, new pet abilities and lower DPS — was built-in spell alerts. Power Auras became such an integral part of so many people’s gameplay that Blizzard finally gave us its own non-customizable version to warn us when proc-type abilities become ready.
Interestingly, this helpful addition has a lot of hunters confused. I’ve been getting a steady stream of emails and comments asking what certain icons mean or why they appear when they do (such as when an ability isn’t ready). It seems a spell alert guide is in order.

On a completely unrelated side note, I think we should set up a Volley Anonymous support group. I thought I was starting to get over the fact that we no longer have this fantastic AOE ability until last night. I recently started farming Zul’Gurub for rep and mounts but I almost /cried about half way through when I saw an enemy troll hunter casting Volley on me. I put my pet on passive and just stood in the glory of Volley once more( I recomend this for anyone who is missing it as much as I am, its very theraputic
). I know Multi-Shot has its own benefits such as being able to run-and-gun with it but I fear it will never replace it completely in my heart. We miss you Volley.

An updated Power Auras article/guide would be handy, to show some aura setups that would nicely compliment these new built-in ones for each spec.
Since you posted the WHU vid over there, we’ve gotten a large influx of new members. =)
Glad to see others seem to rapturously enjoy the Kill Shot glyph as much as I do. I’m a UI-tweak fanatic so I still just use power auras instead of these, but it is nice to know they’re there.
What are the blue arcs? They are in the same place as Red arcs except blue. I’ve only seen them twice and did not notice what proc’d. Spent a long time on a Training Dummy too, no blue arcs.
