A look at soloing as a BM hunter in the Cataclysm beta, at level 80. I apparently picked a good place, since those mobs were respawning like crazy at one point and I was getting jumped from every side. Shows the BM focus regen pretty well, and ability to shoot on the move.
I particularly enjoyed the part where I couldn’t figure out why I had Steady Shot on my bar instead of Cobra Shot — I’m too used to my 83 self already. Can’t learn Cobra until level 81 : )
so what’s up with that miss there Frost? and from watching both of these think i’m sticking MM.

You forget scattered shot is baseline? Really helps with the extreme rate some of the mobs spawn in areas of Hyjal. Lvl’d to 81 as MM without a pet and breezed through it, using liberal amount of scattered/concussive shots and frost traps. Quest hubs are great, really makes the leveling process easier to live with, although the implementation may make the zone feel less epic than it should be.
oh boy! I Can’t wait to see how BM works with the pet pass.
Hey frost can you tell me if the best with in still makes you , the hunter CC immune when it is active? the talent tool tip does not say anything about it, i personaly hope it doesn’t , IMHO that is one of the big reasons they could not fix BM dps in wrath,( dam beast cleave).
I personaly would like to see BW do less dmg ,and mabye less focus reduction and be able to be used more often, via random proc , or a combo use of abils.

Well it looks like BM is still going to be a good leveling spec, with more than enough focus regen. Then again, there’s still plenty of time for everything to get turned on its head once again.
every once in a while i see a fast scroll of damage in center of screen. since addons arent supposed to be usable in beta, is that new?
Samalanix I believe all AoE abilities are going to be lower then on live because Blizzard wants players to move from AoE everything down even if it is only one to two mobs, to single target them instead.
and i mean lower damage against smaller groups. In larger pulls you definitely want to use your AoE abilities.
Got 2 questions, well 3 really.

2. The graphics look really good. Better than mine. Is this a new engine or is it just my hardware sucks?
3. What with the constant jumping around? Do you maybe need some ridalin? Cut back on the sugar or something?

Glad to see that ‘regular’ soloing is alive and well. However, what I’m interested in is pet survivability, what with loss of Catlike Reflexes, Thick Hide, Endurance Training – well, basically every single BM talent that helps pet survivability save Spirit Bond. Since the limits to soloing really are in how much you can handle before your pet dies, where does this leave the extremes of soloing?
A great macro I use for farming now is a simple MD to my pet. Also, if you glyph Misdirection, it has no cooldown when you MD to your pet. This is amazing for solo since you can just spam MD and multi-Shot when in a bind.

So even this vid is a bid older now, I just want to remind everybody, who sees it, that there is the new Glyph of Misdirection, which does not cause and cool down on missdirect if used on your pet. This is crazy. simply Makro:
/cancelaura Misdirection
/tar pet (this works with all ur pets u dont have to rename for all ur pets)
/cast Misdirection
/oldtarget (<- not sure on this line, since I play another language normally ^^)
So what it does, it casts Misdirection on ur pet even if the old one may still be up and retarget ur old target. Notice: Only push this Button once, since Misdirection has a gc u will only delete the old Misdirection and as long as the gc is not run out u wont cast a new Misdirection!
Also with the new ability of the ghosts Pets, the selfheal is so fast that at least on the current 4.0.1 state I prefere them to tank pets, since they deal a huge amount of dmg. On those 16-20k life Mobs in Wotlk I only Misdirect all enemys onto my pet and it does the rest… Will see ho good that works with stronger Cata Mobs.
