It’s episode 39 of the Hunting Party Podcast, where we try our best to at least scratch the surface of the mass of Cataclysm information we were bombarded with. There’s a lot there, and we’ve got lots more to talk about next time too.
As always, here is the iTunes store link, the Hunting Party Podcast feed, and the direct XML feed. If you email us comments or questions, we’ll read them on the next show. Technically, I just hummed. Also, it was the original song, not the new cool one
about the discusion if 25 man will stay alive with the 10 man being better i think there is a very easy solution just dont let them share the same lock out.
Sad since they totally just revamped all the talents into 31pts. And not nothing is known really.
Is it me or Frostheim’s personality is slowly becoming like Brk’s? (check 55:56)
Emotionally unbalanced?
To start off sv hunters are now mages.
Next, I was watching a live streaming video of ahuman hunter, he was 1-2 shotting mons his level with aimed shot. But, I noticed when he was casting Auto Shots Were Not Proccing. The bug may be back! Also even though he was around level 30 (he was in duskwood) his focus regen was extremely slow looking. Probably less than half of a rogue’s energy.
If focus in aspect of the fox is increased by 20% then will haste>agi or will it depend on how much faster haste increases focus?
25-Man
-I completely agree with Frost that making 25-man easier would be perceived as sticking 10-man
-25-man is not going away; it will be a significantly more efficient method to gear up. Blizzard is increasing loot drops disproportionate to ten man. So if one item were to drop in 10-man, instead of having 2.5 (that’s an average, people, I know you can’t drop half an item) items drop, it’d be more like 4. We’ll have to see. Either way I prefer the 25-man format and 25-man has and will likely continue to be the “gold standard” for progression, meaning the format by which guilds and servers are ranked and compared.
-There was also a comment regarding 10-mans being the “largest audience” of WoW players. This is not true; the largest audience is actually gamers that quest and occasionally run dungeons; lots of casuals out there. However, raiders spend more time in-game. So while Blizzard is making more money off casual players that may never even touch raids and play on a limited basis, raiders consitute a smaller percentage of the player base but account for the larger percentage of game time and system resources. I hope that makes sense.
Rate of gear obsoletion
-”There are some epic and legendary items from Wrath of the Lich King raid content which may take a while to replace, but chances are most of your gear will be replaced by the time you start running level-85 normal 5-player dungeons.” -Source
