Last weekend we had the distinct pleasure and honor to speak with Big Red Kitty on the Hunting Party Podcast. BRK talked about his philosophy behind alpha participation, his current WoW and blogging plans, the greatness of the hunter community, and of course answered lots of questions from the chat room.

This is one you guys do not want to miss, and we even went longer than usual with it!

As always, here is the iTunes store link, the Hunting Party Podcast feed, and the direct XML feed. If you email us comments or questions, we’ll read them on the next show. Send an email to [email protected] Also, we love iTunes reviews. So please drop by iTunes and mention what you thought of the show.

  3. Omogon of Lethon says:

    Funny stuff. :D

  4. Nerfornuthin says:

for the jumping down and pet running around aggroing mobs part of the podcast… I usually just put my pet on stay a decent way behind me where the jump would take place. I have pet attack macro’d to serpent sting and passive keybound to shift T. So for combat before the jump my pet will still be there for me, and when done he runs back…when done properly he runs so far back to where I told him ‘stay’ that he disappears. Then, I jump, and whistle. Nexus is a good example where you fight the dragonkin over the abyss area. I have pet sit and first landpad, and when I get to the jump down section, the pet runs back that and dismisses himself and I don’t have to do the cast time for it. =)

  5. Dilni says:

I think that with BRK’s input hunters in cataclysm are gonna be just fine. Great to hear him again. :)

  6. Dianth says:

It was interesting to learn that BRK is a H2G2 fan, you guys have some great tips on how to get your pet around in an instance without aggoing everything in sight and I really enjoyed hearing where the term “huntard” came from!

  7. Yorigrim says:

He’s a really funny guy, I’m glad I tuned in!

  8. Maulrogg says:

Real blast from the past with BRK being a guest. Some nice questions there guys but I think that you need a little more energy. You can really tell that BRK had more energy in his voice and personality, could have been practice.
    Keep it up guys.

  9. Grimgold says:

Awesome podcast, listened to it at work, while shooing away coworkers who wanted me to do things other than listen. BRK is as funny as I remember,

  10. Kharzag says:

what was the name of your new guild again? its always hard to figure out how things are spelled ect

Ps a “underbar” for links and stuff you talk about during the shows would be great, just as youtube has :)

  11. Beerstain says:

I didn’t want it to end! BRK cracks me up. Great work to all as always!

  12. Maltak says:

World of Warcraft is not fun and it has almost never been fun in the four years I’ve been playing it. Almost every other activity known to man is more fun that Wow. The game is arduous, frustrating, overflowing with repetition, and EXTREMELY time consuming. The game has it’s “moments” though such as killing that raid boss, getting that one piece of gear that you’ve been longing for, and getting a lucky world drop. However, all of those “moments” are just that moments, they’re extremely short lived. Other than the obvious, I’m hard-pressed to believe that Cataclysm is going to be any different. To help you guys take this the right way, I do play wow and I plan on playing Cataclysm.

  13. Masta says:

Long time reader of WHU and BRK (until he stopped), first time listener, very nice podcast. The lot of you cover every aspect of huntery and I hope BRK decides to stay allthough in another manner than before as he clearly stated.

Could you please help me with the Ratshag references, more spesifically the blog and Naxx guide. I didn’t catch the names right so google came up empty for me (well, not empty, but misguiding rather).

  14. Zat says:

I unfortunately missed the whole BRK tenure.

That guy is hilarious. I know he said he’s not coming back on the show, but offer him some friendship bracelets. Bring back the legendary BRK!

  15. Coma says:

Welcome back BRK you were sooo missed!

@Nerfornuthin – I do the same thing with my pet. The reason I started doing this is because many times when my pet is dismissed he comes back with half life and that annoyed me :-/ I also hated having to stop and take the time to dismiss while everyone else was kicking butt!

I am also paranoid about running out of ammo. I keep my bank stocked with ammo and have 8 stacks in my bags I re-stock my bags after every raid and after a day or two of running heroics. I have only run out of ammo one time (in Naxx for an impromptu weekly group). I love the idea of keeping a stack of mammoth cutters in your bag as a back-up.

  16. Bashel says:

BRK holy crap the two pets idea! i have been thinking that since BC came out! i want two pets even if its a lesser and a greater kinda pet or something like what i read from other people like release the hounds were we let the pets in our carriers all out together! i want two pets to own the stupid unstealthed rogue!!!

  17. I think closely behind the hunter world is the prot pally family, they are also very helpful.

  18. Bahzob says:

Stunning. Thanks so much to you guys and BRK for putting together a solid hour of fun (and pretty informative to boot)
