WHU Level 10 Hunter Raid Video

Sorry for the delay guys — here it is in all its epic glory!

I debated a while whether to include the partying shots from the inn and on the dam, since they didn’t fit with the badass theme. Then I cut them to separate music and was originally thinking of making it two different videos, but ultimately I decided there should be one big video record of the event, that included highlights from everything we did. So it kinda watches like two different things.

Some interesting tidbits of info, and to answer some questions:

• The music is by X-Ray Dog. The songs are listed in the credits. I blended a couple together for the intro music.
• The shot of everyone pouring out of the buildings in Kharanos was actually 3 times as long as what I used. I originally wanted to use the entire thing to really show how ridiculously many people were there, but it killed the momentum of the video too much. In editing video, as in editing writing, the first rule is “Kill your babies, kill your babies, kill your babies.”
• There were well over 300 people present at the beginning. We can’t tell how many exactly, because the guild system only tracks the first 500 members. Thus if the 501st member is the only one online, the guild info will say there’s zero people online. We only know that as of the night of the event the WHU guild had over 500 member at level 10, and that whatever the number, it was a LOT.
• We had a lot of lag. I also only saw people shooting for a few seconds followed by 7-10 seconds of nothing. I edited out the gaps — but that’s what let me get that great shot at the target dummy that made it look like we all started shooting at once.
• Within 10 – 15 seconds, we took the target dummy from 100% health to 95% health, and the debuff bar was nothing but Serpent Stings. Then the lag hit and the health never changed again. I kinda wish I had waited for everyone to leave to see if we killed it. I suspect we did.
• A lot of people missed the tram (or fell off it) and a lot missed the boat. We waited for them on the other side. Also when we got to the dragon we summoned the people who got lost or left behind.
• Some hordies attacked us on the way (well, flagged in front of us). They were decimated. The footage wasn’t even worth using they died so fast. I tried to help, but before my first shot could fire (what with the lag) they were dead. But the sound of 300+ hunter summoning their pets at once was awesome.
• Yes, we killed Emiriss. Yes, we had some 80s helping — specifically we called Hrist in to tank after we were getting constantly griefed (80s were kiting Emiriss to us while we were half-formed). Level 10 hunters did almost all of the dps.
• Yes, I shot at Emiriss about 5 times just to get a shot of me attacking. The rest of the time I was not shooting and just filming.
• I was dead when we finally got the dragon down, so I missed the death shot
• We fired off over 800 fireworks cluster rockets.
• That’s Bella’s voice over vent that you hear at the end during our lemming fest saying, “I’m not jumping… that’s just silly talk.”
• The new WHU guild level cap is level 19. The next event won’t be for at least a month, possibly not for as long as 2 months. It will be announced here on the WHU when it’s scheduled.
