Today is Super Hunter Friday — sneak peeks of Cataclysm news and the epic WHU raid tonight. Here is a recap of the details:
- Icecrown Server, Alliance Side
- All dwarven hunters level 1 – 10 are welcome
- /join WHU channel to get an invite to the WHU guild
- The event starts at 6pm server time (mountain time), 7pm central standard time, 8pm Eastern, 5pm pacific
- The raid will last around an hour and a half
Our actual destination will be revealed at the event, but I can tell you that we’ll be making several stops, and it’s not all about killing – we’ll do some partying too.
As I mentioned before, in addition to doing a kick-ass in-game event I’m also collecting footage for another hunter video that I’m currently working on. That means that every now and then we’ll be stopping to get some specific footage. For example, I might ask the group to all stop in one spot, and then when I give the word to run past me. Same deal as last time for the Level 1 Hunter Raid.
It also makes the video recap of the event 83 times more epic when we have some of the sweet shots, rather than just whatever happens. I will be there about an hour before the event so I can start to collect some of the footage ahead of time. So if anyone is interested in helping with that, feel free to pop on early.
After re-watching the level 1 hunter raid and it’s epicness with just 90 hunters, I cannot wait to see what our legions will be like now — and with pets! See you guys tonight!

Omogono has just got over his hangover from spending over a month sitting in the Stonefire. He’s now at lvl 10 and will be waiting at the Thunderbrew for the “epicness” to start …and probably “drunk as a skunk”
I’ll be on a few hours before the raid offering free summons to Dalaran. Only rules are that you have to stick around to help summon one more then drop group so we can churn through people as fast as possible. From my experience last night, I can’t convert to a raid because of the low level. Character name is Oppositelock.
I’m from Malfurion playing my first character as a Hunter that is currently level 47. I feel tempted to create a new char tonight after work on your server to join in the fun.
Wish I wasn’t out of town, or I’d be there!

My wife and i bought tickets for a comedian coming to town tonight, i can honestly say ive never been more disappointed to go to such an event as i am tonight.
What made matters worse is that i had a 6 day dumba$$ attack and leveled a hunter to 10, geared him, got him a pet, and stopped XP. Realized the next morning i couldnt go:(

Turns out I can’t make it but my son has agreed to fun Gringodude and Pedro for me. Depressing but at least I can live vicariously through him =D. Good Luck and have fun all.
Hunter uodates have just been posted on the forums… I’m quite annoyed with what they’re doing with ammo, basicly turning guns into wands.

AHHH !!!! why do they do this to us. I love the Trap launcher, been asking for it for a long while now. But No more ammo do they realize how screwy that is? And camoflauge is that suppost to be like a Prowl cat pets have?
i thought that armor pen was going to be a none issue come cata. Now i see that MM class second mastery talent is armor pen. what gives?
I do like that they finally realized that we need more pet room, and the way they worded it sounds like it will work out good.
Now i realize that this is only a teaser of info on the hunter changes come Cataclysm, but from what i read it seems like BM is getting the most overhauled, and may finally take it’s place atop the dps meter’s once again. if that holds true Amen, and pass the ammunition
So is it just me or do the numbers on this focus system look terrible to anyone else? It’s like they took the hamstringing nature of rogue energy and gave it to us without the payoff of combo points and big finishers.
At 45 energy and 6 energy per second explosive shot goes from 6 second CD to 7.5 seconds to regen the energy. And that is if it is the only ability you are using!
My only hope is that the 6 eps figure is before haste and that we’llget a ton of energy regen talents like rogues do. Otherwise it’ll be a lot of steady shot spamming just to get to use one ability.

It really was a Super Hunter Friday. Nothing like hundreds of Level 10 Dwarf Hunters to add a bit of chaos to the day. LOL.
Post event thoughts:
I find I enjoyed prepping for the event was more fun than the event itself. I guess it’s the whole journey instead of the destination thing.
Next time I’ll have to remember to turn off the big Add-Ons, and dial my video down, before the event starts, instead of near the end. At least I saw the fireworks lag free.
Huge props to Minibelle, Frost, and the rest of the guild officers for their endless patience…well maybe not Frost’s endless patience…but he did amazingly well considering. I don’t think he cursed on the chat channel once, but I wish I could have heard what he was yelling at his keyboard, at a few points in the evening.
The dungeon finder’s going to be a huge pain once we hit 15. I may have to start a druid or paladin alt, just so there’s a few tank/healers, to offset the huge pool of DPS Icecrown now has.
This was a fantastic event that was well planned and well executed. I know a lot of people have trouble putting together a 25 man raid let alone a 260 man raid.
10 of us from the Feathermoon Realm in the Wind of Hope guild joined in for Super Hunter Friday. We had our own vent channel for the event and promoted it within our guild. It was one of the funnest in game events many of us can ever remember.

Hunter Friday was huge fun!! I was cheering at my keyboard all night and got drunk as a skunk in the process. Getting to Lvl 10 was extremely enjoyable too. Thanks to Bella and all the officers for making this event so enjoyable.

ps – @metalbeast: nice, footage! i didn’t get any shots of the “salmon run” after the fireworks show; nice to see video of that! somehow i survived that final plummet into the wetlands, but i don’t know if i could repeat it…
