The next WHU in-game event will be happening in one week, on Friday the 9th. We’ll meet in Kharanos, then head off for a bit of training, then we will swarm over the countryside, hundreds of hunters and pets, leaving death in our path and stopping for a bit of partying on the way.
For those that missed the last in-game event last November, here’s the brief video from our Hogger/Ysondre raid. Be prepared for spine-tingling epicness:
… And that event was only a little over 90 hunters, without pets. We already have over 350 500 in the newly formed WHU guild.
Here’s the details:
- Icecrown server, Alliance side
- Friday, April 9th
- 6pm server time (7pm central standard, 8pm eastern, 5pm pacific)
- Meet in Kharanos
- Dwarven hunters, levels 1-10 (level 10 preferred – then we have pets)
- Do not level past 10!
- /join WHU to join the WHU chat channel. Ask for a guild invite and get in the WHU guild. There’s always a bunch of hunters online!
- Exact details will remain secret until the event
- The raid should take about an hour to an hour and a half
The last raid, in addition to being huge, huge fun, was also partially to collect some footage to use in the I’m a Hunter video. This next raid is the same. I am working on the next hunter song and video at the moment, and I’d like to get some awesome footage of our great community in action.
What this means is that on the way to our targets, I’ll be asking people to stop from time to time while I get in position to get some footage. So I might say “stay here until I say go, then run past me.” Same deal as last time. It shouldn’t eat up too much time, and most of the time we’ll be crossing the countryside and killing everything in our path.
And like last time, I’ll cut together a separate video of the raid and get that up as a record of our epic exploits.

It is so amazing to see Ironforge swarmed by the WHU and our cheerleader. Definitely one of the cooler ideas I’ve seen. Nice to see so many people involved in the guild and helping out, too. People even set up a secondary guild for the death knight bank alts.
looks like ill have retire ol’ Killschott at lvl 13 and relvl a hunter, i dont think i can miss the chance at this.

how fun would a horde city raid be? have to do a less populated city so we dont get destoyed by a bunch of lvl 80s.
Rats… to early, still at work… and my band is playing a show that night so I still couldn’t make it.
The one that I joined was “Dead Hunter’s Society”. There’s usually someone on, so as long as you /join WHU with your death knight, and ask for the alt guild, I’m sure someone will be there. Everyone’s really nice.
Oh well … after leveling to 7 I guess Ill stop. Ill be out of town with family, so looking forward already to the next event.
After reading some comments it would seem fair and appropriate to reveal the event day a week or so in advance to give people more time to plan.

Made the push up to 10 last night (Rbunderøath), and got my pet! Stoked about the raid next week, and I’ve got the day off, so I’ll be there for sure!

Did lvl 10 last night ( Luvchild ) and ran the trinket run with Frost. What a GAS with all the low lvl dwarfs running around. Got the pet today. Lucky to get the rare “Timber.” On a 45 min timer so not that rare. Had to die three times. Killing one of his body gaurds each time. But now I’m a lvl 10 with a lvl 10 wolf. This is TOO much fun. Thanks to all who are putting this on and supporting it!!!!
The twins Thundershot and Lightninshot will be there with death from above ( our Howling Fjord found pets
)dealing damage and adding as much awesomeness as Dwarvenly possible!

People are *so* funny. I just hit 10 the other day, but there are folks who are just running around, upping their skills, putting stuff in the guild bank; paying 10g so they don’t get any more xp, but still get to work on their kit. It’s a nice distraction from the usual grind.

gL guys ill be at a wedding unfortunately but my Hunter is at 10 with pet yet to be tamed as i cannot choose what i want. Either way have funand i hope to make the next event. And a big thanks to Frost for putting this together in what i hope turns into an epic legend of an event when we r all 80.

Frost, considering were flirting with, if not already passing, 500 hunters, might i make a simple suggestion come raid time?
There is a simple addon that lets people get invite to a raid by whispering the raid leader with “invite” (with the ” “) and it auto sends them an invite. May make it easier come the big night if there are several groups. A couple people running this and all the others would have to do is simply whisper, instead of having to manually invite everyone individually.
Just a suggestion since it appears we’ll end up with more than one raid

isn’t 500 the guild cap for # of chars in a guild?
There’s no guild ‘cap’ per se, from what I’ve read. I just thing the GUI stops showing members at 500. You can still invite/kick/promote them with keyboard commands.

Got myself 43xp away from level 11!! But I got my pets and Hogger down! So much fun. Now to figure out how to turn 10g into massive amounts of gold without taking a gathering prof.
Omogono is at lvl and was one of the first to sign up on the calendar
I went and tamed my original piggy pet in Loch Modan and then went and killed Hogger. Oh the memories 
Got losts of advice on how to scrape up 10G ( without having to mess with dead knights
) and turned my XP off.

Working my way up to level 10. Feels strange to go from an elegant deadly silent death shooting Night Elf to a gun toting beer drinking beardless dwarf.
I got my little trial account hunter at lvl 10 as well. Tried to get original and tame the hardest pet to get to at that lvl, the turtle from the belf starting place… finally getting up to the ghostlands border I realize that the burning crusade expansion is not active on a trial account argh! Couldn’t go through the portal
It still was fun and exciting to do that big run, brings back memories. Also soloing Hogger without a pet was an epic kite! Good thing Hogger has a huge range before he runs back to his original place.
The only thing that really sucks is not being able to join the guild, whisper people or talk on the WHU channel.
Sooo I’ve just been over to WHU hunter guide section but I can’t find an answer there. At level 10 should I be gemming for Spirit/ArP or should I just go for a standard MP5/Shield Block build?

Skeets, dwarves train bows in Darnassus. Frost said if we are going to play for the short run put talent point into BM, if long term put the point into MM. But he’s also said that until you hit 80 it doesn’t really matter.

I have to concur with Rick. The cooperation inside the guild has been humbling and I have found myself trapped grinding my DK and hunter much more than is sane. Trying to get mats and levels to provide for the guild. Working on engineering in order to stock the next level cap. Bella is tireless and has not said no yet. (I’m willing to pay for her Realm change
) Frost and others have created an environment of giving and I have not witnessed a single instance of profiteering yet. Kudos to all WHU and Dead Hunters Society members.
Bamstoker is right on the money. I see him on the guild chat line almost all the time that I am online. WHU on Icecrown is a very giving group. Like Bamstoker – I am grinding my DK so as to help provide one of the most neccessary pieces of gear – bags (closing in on 10-slot bags now). And I have set up a couple of other alts to deal with other stuff, but not grinding them as much.
Some of the other folks have me thinking about how far I can push a level 10 as for as level of oppenents, which makes for an interesting challenge.
Frost has created a great community of hunters. Something Ihave thought would be fun to do, but it takes someone like Frost to pull off succesfully.
Looking forward to the Friday event. Told my wife she’s going to be a Warcraft Widow that evening.

I’m a very sad dwarf. I leveled up to lvl 10, ran around getting gear from quests & learning my professions. Hell, I even broke a personal rule and made myself a DK to act as dwarf support. Only then did I do the time calculations & conversions to realise, to my horror, I won’t be able to make the Friday raid!. Needless to say, when I made this realisation, I was as sick as a moon goat.
Can I make a suggestion Frostheim? I’m assuming the idea is to level these dwarfs to level 20 next. Why not hang on level 10 for a few weeks first, then maybe we could have other raid opportunities (or even mini raid opportunities) before we all start leveling again? Just a thought.

Beside what Kilthur told use there are a fe other ting i would like to point out:
If you don’t have the BoA trinket, they are 2 engeniner Trinket that you can make and use at lvl 10 they are not bad at all.
The best 2 profession ton increase your gear and your dps is skining and engenering.
Enchante’s are primordial, but i am not shure wich one should be priority more agility or more hit (I don’t know if we have a hit cap at this lvl and what it is)
Anyway Frotheim is probably gona do a lv 10 hunter Twink article, so he’s gona tell us all that..

At first I laughed, at second I realized I’ve done the same. I’m out of town this weekend leaving Friday after work. Perhaps I’ll leave work 2-3 hours early so I can make the drive and set up my comp to join the raid. Damn you life!
