I sympathise you Frost… I am a huge fan of Boomsticks and they are the sole reason for picking my beloved dwarf toon. This and my bear mate hunting together for endless nights. But time passed and i got another great pet, my (Den Mother) wolf. But always a greedy stubborn dwarf and always gun-equipped. i used to pass on any weapon other than 2H axes and guns. Alas, now i feel degraded with Zod’s and a lousy polearm…

Just have a couple of dwarfen stouts blur out your vision, make some new folders in your wow directory and put in the necessary sound files to make your crossbow sound just like your favorite gun and start pretending that the crossbow is a mighty hard hitting gun. Deep down you will probably be aware of the missing gun smoke and the lack of gun powder smell, but it might work anyway if you just want it badly enough.

Yeah it total sucks Blizzard show realease equals of both types at the same time, i dont get to do many 25 mans so the chances for a gun for me is even less than most , Personally i think its stupid releasing a crossbow Eck already drops one in POS , then lady deathwisper with her bow were is our Dwarven Boomsticks i tell you they need to think about the loot alot more. On a off chance maybe there working on our dual weilding pistols and forgot about the rifles for now one can only hope.

So now the question is…
Will Frostheim, bastion of all rational thought, be a stubborn dwarf, stick with his Gun and do less DPS, or will he suck it up, pay his dues, and go with the Crossbow?

A curly conundurum indeed, and one as another Dwarf Hunter I do not envy

Personally, as an engineer, I’d like to see a better engineer gun than the current top.. the Nesingwary 4000. But I can’t see that happening.

What I meant was any tier in ICC content (normal or hard mode), the bows/xbows will always out DPS the guns.

I use an add-on called Silencer – makes guns sound like they are silenced! So, I don’t have to listen to the BANG! BANG! for 2 hours straight. I’m glad I got the bow from 10 man ICC…to me, guns aren’t really a D&D type of weapon(along with siege engines, motorcycles, and helicopters).
