And that's the main reason to drop arcane shot from your rotation even without armor pen gems. If you don't use Arcane Shot in your rotation then it's always up when you need to move. The spec above is a really good build even without armor pen gems. I use this spec since TOC and do good dps with it. Was doing around 8-10k on twin 25 back in the days. If you don't have Needle-Encrusted Scorpion you should definately get it. It's not a good trinket and its uptime is rougly 20% only but the armor pen boost will let you get close to the hard cap when it procs. Dont waste armor pen gems on 245 and lower gear. You can switch to armor pen gems smoothly by using them on iLevel 251 and above gears only. And then when you reach around 800 passive armor pen you can drop the Needle-Encrusted Scorpion and replace it by WFS. DO NOT BUY the Herkumi War Totem. It's a piece of ****. Buy it only if you already got 4 pieces of t10 and the back. Do not buy the t10 pant there's no armor pen on it. Saurfang is not a good fight for MM hunter. I almost never do 10k on him while i can do 12k on Bloodqueen without beeing bited at all (close to 20k while bited at the beginning). I can do up to 13k on Lady and Lord and this with the Herkumi War Crap equipped. On saurfang when you see the beasts are about to come out (approx 10 secondes remaining) and you need to put down a trap stop using Chimera Shot and Aimed Shot and do Steady Shot only. By doing more Steady Shot you'll almost certainly proc Improved Steady Shot and you'll be sure Chimera Shot +20% is up when you'll need to move to put down a trap. The same strat apply to Festergut. Use Disengage to get far from Saurfang (use it to get far from Marrow bonestorm too). You should macro Aimed with Silencing Shot and Kill Command. And you should gem iLevel 251+ gear with 20 armor pen gems even if it means loosing the bonus. Haste is crap unless there's armor pen coming with it. No matter what fail hunters tell you Distand Land sucks big time. The Hersir Greatspear 10 men is better (heroic version of the greatspear is almost as good as the lich king 25 men heroic weapon). Zod repeating longbow is crap. Lady Deathwhisper 10 men heroic bow is far better and is easy to get as she's almost as easy as normal mode. Blood Queen Lanathel heroic 10 men is easy too and drop a very good bow. My hunter name is Granule if you want to check my build, glyph and gears. Researching the ReCount numbers for Saurfang, the other hunter with a gear score close to mine (around 5.7k) top shots were Auto, Chimera, and Volley, while mine were Auto, Steady and Aimed - almost all of my shots averaged damage scores above his, but his absolute counts were almost twice mine! I know I have to work on movement, but could that alone account for this discrepancy?? I'll certainly be working on movement, but any advice in the meantime would be very appreciated.
