In fact, there’s just so darned much hunter loot delight that it won’t all fit into one post! So join me after the cut as we start to plan our ICC loot lists with a look at our itemization, tier 10 armor, Emblem of Frost options, and craftable loot.

Great to see you over on wow.com, Frost. The hunter column there has been languishing for a while, and I honestly can’t think of a better person to take over the reins.
@Autumn, totally agreed. WoW.com needed a hunter columnist who knows the subject matter and can explain it to the lesser classes. well done.

@Perren: gotta question for you. Imagine you won Battered hilt and have the option of either sell it for 15K and buy mats for Rock-Steady Treads for 10K or do Quel´Delar quest chain. What would you do?
I was thinking about it (boots and 2H being my worst pieces of gear now, 226 and 219 ilvl respectively), and I think I would go for BiS boots and have that 5K gold bonus
I feel kind of cheated that you can’t post the info on here. Kind of sad you can’t add the ICC hunter gear guide to the guide section. That’s the case, right?

If I won the battered hilt I’d sell it and buy the mats for the boots. I’m not even sure why they sell for so much. For me at least the bots would be a major upgrade and the final quest sword just doesn’t really perk my interest.
Now if the hilts were selling for like 5K gold, I’d probably use it, but it’s crazy what they’re going for.
Any word on this being a steady Gig, or did I miss that news. It will be an asset to the site, which I read regularly, to have you as a writer. The article was very impressive, from the perspective of Wow.com. Being a regular reader of this site, I already new that it would be.

@Splatus actually the last few hunter columnists have known the subject matter really well. I just think it’s more of a style thing. And I couldn’t agree more that Frostheim’s style works great at wow.com.

The reason the hilts sell so well is that because not everyone can easily get into icc 10 mans. and at this point even in ICC 10 the weapon drops, while good, aren’t guaranteed. If i weren’t able to get even my alt into ICC 10 and 25 I would seriously consider buying one, despite the fact that you can go into the new ICC 5 mans and get pretty beastly 232 weapons, but the battered hilt is 251, which is a pretty serious upgrade from those 5 mans.
Its a matter of a guaranteed upgrade vs raiding where things are free, but you just might never see it drop (I’m thinking about raiding Naxxramas for 4 months and never seeing Envoy of Mortality; I would have paid upwards of 10k for that weapon back when it was BiS)
PS excellent article. I hadn’t found a good compilation of ICC hunter gear, so its nice to have it all listed in one place instead of having to look up items and bring up multiple windows of wowhead and my armory trying to figure out my upgrades.
