It’s episode 20 of the Hunting Party Podcast. Darkbrew and I discuss the tier 9 2-piece bonus vs the tier 10 4-piece bonus, we go over the twitter developer chat, and as always we answer reader emails.
As always, here is the iTunes store link, the Hunting Party Podcast feed, and the direct XML feed. If you email us comments or questions, we’ll read them on the next show. Send an email to huntingpartypodcast@gmail.com. Also, we love iTunes reviews.

A podcast under an hour?! Stop the presses!
Quality as usual. Though the email about building a tank spec (which turned out to be soloing) depressed me after my initial excitement. People need to get their terms straight.
I think some of the info I read here is finally starting to seep into my head thick head
A while back I had come to the conclusion that I was going to keep my T9 legs and gloves and work on the new shoulders and helm. I was happy to see that this seems to make sense

Ive just started to listen to these podcasts and ive fallen in love! I just love the whole thing, the great info you give and the way you always make me smile even after my raid had wiped for the 100th time on rotface!

The t9/t10 debate seems pertinent to a lot of us. I was surprised at the answer (I was planning on switching to a 4-piece at some point) but I guess it’s just badges toward something else. Thanks.
Thanks for the email about the 140 AP enchant vs Undead I went out and immediately bought it, I used it on my orca hunters harpoon my main raiding weapon, but I am in a situation where it works out great because I have fordragon blades as well with the regular 110 AP enchant, Ive found orca hunters harpoon gives me a little more dps but I will be using my fordragon blades on all other fights, always looking for that way to min / max. Im sure this doesent work out for everyone but for me… its perfect.

Very iteresting gear discussion. One of the things I’d like to see bantered about is the best trinkets. The greatness card seems to have held up through ToC as a very viable option but wondering if between frost emblem options and ICC drops we might finally see the end of Darkmoon Faire trinkets for hunters.
Eagle eye is fantastic in BG’s. Use it to check out flags, control points and such.

2t10 vs. 2t9:
I’ve been stock piling my emblems and after last nights 10m raid ( 6/9 bosses down
) I was over 120frost. I took heavy consideration of the podcasts information and even listened to it twice as I usually do incase i have missed something as I listen to it while in-game. That being said after sitting on so many frost emblems I finally snaped and bout my shoulders and gloves ( already have purchase t10 chest and vendor belt ). The question/statement I will make is what does 2T9vs2T10 look like seeing as I have now decided I’m going all the way with T10.
P.S. FROST! We had this debate about SV vs. MM on saurfang and it seems you have switched your tone about SV now
(ref: BM vs MM vs SV post)

Frost,
You mentioned in the podcast that the spreadsheet models only average out the procs during your discussion on 4PCT10 vs. 2PCT9. You said specifically that it doesn’t do a good job modeling the fact that you manually maintain the 15% damage refresher on Chimera Shot.
But in actuality, femaledwarf.com (online DPS analyzer) has the provision where it assumes you refresh SpS during an Exploit Weakness 2PC T10 proc.
Here’s the notation:
Warning: The dps calculated below assumes that you are refreshing your serpent sting when the 2pc T10 bonus procs and then using chimera to maintain it for the rest of the fight to preserve the damage bonus. To disable this behavior, check the “Don’t Emulate Known Bugs” option in the settings.
Just wanted to note this for consistency – and it opens up further discussion. Because if it IS being modeled correctly on femaledawrf.com, I’m still seeing significant upgrades by going to 4PCT10 over 2PCT9 but ONLY with 264 sanctified T10 pieces. So I would still recommend spending your badges on the helm, shoulders, chest and gloves in order to achieve Sanctified T10 asap.

After listening to your story of Hrist I would love to see exactly how fast and how much he is able to pull and hold aggro on in the heroics. My guild has one tank who is still gearing up for ICC however last night after hearing your story I was pushing him to take more and more adds. I know that our healer can handle it and our DPS knows how to watch and manage aggro. I was surprised that he was able to take as much as he did, I think he was too, even with only being geared for TotC 10. We finally ended at Nexus, I asked to pull everything up to the Mage. He did it, man that was an interesting time!
Eyes of the beast has one use in ICC. During the initial trash we usually prefer not to have to deal with both large skeletons as well as the spider/skeleton combos. So if we don’t have someone with Eye of Kilrogg, we send in a pet to trip the traps and get those hulking skeletons moving.

I can say that I have successfully been rolling with MM since I was a level 10 (didn’t know any better then…) and have been out-dpsing most hunters I come around in SV. And I’ve heard the arguments for SV against Suarfang b/c of the burst damage from Lock’n'Load proc-ing but being able to pop Saurfang with a chimera shot once or twice during the blood beast is a huge dps boost and a big help to the raid (fyi: 10-man is where I spend most of my time). It also helps that we roll with a boomkin that entangles one of the beasts; then we have a melee dps taunt the 1st beast back towards the melee if one of us in going to get chomped on. Generaly we one-shot him using this strat and it allows the person the wanted a tanking spec and be able to stay MM and not be concerned with losing the burst damage. Of course if you have plenty of dinero like the uncommoningly handsome Frostheim then you can just continue to re-spec twice a week.
And here is my armory link if anyone wanted to see what I did (disclaimer copied from WHU) http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Steamwheedle+Cartel&cn=Alurien
To put it in perspective I do about 6.4k against Rotface in MM. Our SV hunter does about 5.8k in better gear. Make the switch! It’s worth it

Sorry the above dps is against Festergut not Rotface…
