Rumors and dark portents in the skies indicate that patch 3.3 will be hitting tomorrow. Maybe. Possibly. Likely. We should know today.
I am so ready for ICC. So ready.
Partially it’s that TotC was only 5 bosses, and relatively easy ones at that. There wasn’t enough challenge, and not enough content to hold our attention for long. Partially I’m just looking forward to that magical time at the beginning of a new raid release when the gear falls like rain — all of the sudden everything’s an upgrade.
I’m even looking forward to the daily heroic grind again. I kinda like pursuing those new emblems (and they’re Emblems of Frost after all!) making sure I never miss one and get those upgrades the second, the instant I can. All those new toys to increase dps. All new. All mine.
And it goes without saying that this is the instance where we defeat the Lich King! All of wrath has been about this.
Throughout Ulduar my 10-man group (which is really my progression raid team) has horrible attendance issues that didn’t let us raid often. We got everything sorted out a bit after TotC, but I always felt a bit behind the TotC curve. But for ICC we should be ready. Well, except for the holidays crippling us for a couple of weeks. But they’re doing a slow release again. Saying the first wing will be all there is for the first several weeks.
Several weeks!
We can totally have it down in that amount of time, if we can raid at all during the holidays. Then we should have several more weeks for the next wing!
I’ve been researching the gear, theorycrafting the set bonuses, watching the PTR footage of the boss fights. I’m so ready. More than ready. The first boss, by the way, looks to be really easy. A nice easy victory for our welcome into Icecrown Citadel.
So sometime today we should know for certain if it’s coming tomorrow, because of the magic of time zones. I’m ready to post again later today when I hear — though it could be a while before I have a chance.
Please please please let ICC come out tomorrow. And let my server be stable. And let people not get locked out trying to patch. And let the first couple encounters not be bugged.

LOL yeah im pretty ready too. But the chances of it coming out and not being bugged and the servers being stable are slim. All the last patched have been horrible at least on my server. Hoping that it turns out better this time! And have you got a tribute to dedicated insanity yet??? that was no walk in the park…
I am ready as well but as casual raider, I never “finished” Ulduar nor do I have TOC 10, let alone 25) on any “farm”.
My guild will most likely run ICC as soon as they can and I am looking forward to it but I feel I missed out on some awesome content. I guess that is inevitable. Maybe I can later coax some Tier 10+ folks to take me sightseeing in Ulduar?
Just wondering what you guys expect of the battlegroup-wide LFG system?

I am so ready! I’ve got two trophies sitting in my bank because I’ve been spending all of my triumph on orbs to gear my {newly 80) shaman since until last week I wasn’t looking to get any trophies for a while, then boom! two in a row.
@splatus: I plan to make heavy use of the new lfg system. I am hoping that it will mean I can just hop in some runs when I need to rather than idling in Dal for 20 minutes+ waiting for a group or for friends to get online. Since my shaman is resto, she typically doesn’t have to wait long before some random invite happens, but surplus dps means waiting and waiting on my hunter, and typically it never happens unless a guild or friend run gets together.
It is very exciting to be sure!!
And i agree that our MNK is hitting the ground running:D Since the implementation of our “expectations” our team members have stepped it up and have really come together as a team:D I am pleased that when i compare gear scores on Wowheroes i see that a lot of our MNKers are in the top 10 for gear score:D We are soo ready… chomping at the bit.. looking for the prize… ready to engage and defeat Arthas! Bring it on!
Looking at MMO Champion for sources of Emblems of Frost they are still listing daily heroic dungeon quests for two emblems of frost; plus the weekly raid quest with five emblems of Frost and 5 emblems of triumph…(just to help crash the price of crusader orbs). So every week outside raiding we can earn 19 of the new emblems without stepping into ICC.
Not sure where to start…trinket or back or belt or…
I suppose for us undergeared people the first step is into 5man heroics to shore up some key areas…like a ranged weapon. Sick of seeing over the worst upgrade I can make as being 150dps better than my current gun. Also Quel’Delar quest chain; have to be right on that. So much to look forward to and I haven’t even got to the really fun stuff yet
