I picked up my T10 shoulders just over a week ago now… and I now have only 31 emblems of frost. It is going to take forever to get that first set bonues, let alone get my cloak

I plan to get the belt first. My current belt is the Belt of Dragons from LW. I’ve been pretty happy with it, especially for the 3 gemslots after my buckle. but now for 60 emblems theres a shiny new one that will also have 3. Do you think that the T10 gear and cape are better upgrades than the belt?
The Frost Emblem cloak is a *fantastic* upgrade and thus far is better than gear that we could get out of ICC. However, I definitely recommend pursuing the 2-piece T10 set bonus first, as that bonus is very, very nice for all hunters. It certainly favors BM and MM a bit, but everyone will get a ton of benefit out of it.
Yeah, I’m going the same route as Frost. 2-piece t10, cloak, then the trinket if the FoS trinket hasn’t dropped for me by that point (it better have, though, I friggin’ run it every day). The t10 bonus can also be good for tanking, making it easily my first priority.
That all makes me curious, what belts are you guys using? From my point of view, the Belt of Dragons was a very nice belt before this patch, and now I’m looking at the new Frost belt to be a huge upgrade over it. It appears to not even be on your wish lists. Am I missing something?
The belt is certainly good, but it’s not a high priority for me because a very nice belt also drops from Marrowgar, so you know you’re going to get something close very soon.
The set bonus is far better than equivalent gear an you can only get it via emblems, so it’s at the top of my priority list.
That could be my difference then, I suppose. I’m not in a raiding guild, and rarely get a chance to pug any of the newest raids. I was lucky to run through ICC10 the first week it opened with a good pug. I was even luckier to get the 1 hand axe from gunship and the chest peice from the last boss. Sadly, however, the chest was barely an upgrade over my ilvl 245 T9, and losing the T9 Set bonus means that that shiny new chest sits in my bags mocking me.
In any event, I don’t plan to down Marrowgar anytime soon, so for now I’ve got that belt on my list of upgrades. I might take a closer look at the T9 gear, though, after this conversation.

I went ahead and got my cloak first. I was still rocking the one from Kologarn. The shoulders are definitely the next. My t9 pieces are pants and gloves and I have the crafted chest and the Onyxia head. Which would you recommend as my 2nd t10 piece chest or head?

I managed to get my hands on one of the BOE item level 245 cloaks from ToC 25, so the cloak isn’t that high on my list of Frost Emblem items. I’m definitely going for the 2 piece T10 set bonus first though. Then its either a toss up between the trinket or the cloak. Got my T10 shoulders earlier today, so I’m happy.
Well I did it. Despite all the conversation here, I bought the belt last night. The way I see it, I don’t get into ICC enough be sure I’ll get my hands on the Marrowgar belt, especially on 25. And although the T10 set bonus’ will be kickass, It’s going to take me a long damn time to get enough emblems for two peices if I’m not getting into ICC. So after looking at all my available options, I found the belt to be the biggest “Right Now” upgrade. Hopefully that will help me start getting into ICC more frequently to work towards my T10. Also, I expect the new wing in VOA should be opening up in next couple weeks, and I’m hoping that will bring up opportunity for more T10ness.
I wouldn’t really worry about the cloak you said you have a rock solid 10 man guild keep trying for the insanity cloak the stats are not really that different you gain 3 crit with the new cloak and loose 1 attack power and gain 3 arp and loose 5 agility if you socket it with an agility stam vs the 20 agility red from the 10togc cloak
you save 50 badges thats about 16 for the 2 Icc runs 5 for the weekly and 2 daily dungeons weeks hard out raiding but it also sets you back 4 weeks on a tier piece the 50 badges you would have had and the 2 weeks to recover them
so which particular t10 pieces would you recommend as “best” in terms of itemization? i’ve got the epaulets of the devourer for shoulders so i’m hesitant to replace that so quickly.

i thought it was going to take atleast 2 months to get my t10 set bonus, but then i remembered one magical thing, VoA, its really a life saver when i got 60 frost i thought it would take forever to get another 60, then the t10 piece dropped!! i was pretty happy.
More importantly, these comics are seriously hilarious!!
