The Hunting Party Podcast Episode 13 is finally here (and hopefully hosting issues are now solved). In this Hunting Party we interview the famous Quadilious (WWQD?) about his injury, his thoughts on endgame raiding, and then because I’m lazy I have Quadilious answer my email.
So give it a listen — I think it was a fantastic show! (Fair warning: it’s long – we had so much fun talking with Quads that we never shut up and the time blew past. But if you stick with it to the end, there’s a little sneak peak on there).
As always, here is the iTunes store link, the Hunting Party Podcast feed, and the direct XML feed. If you email us comments or questions, we’ll read them on the next show. Send an email to huntingpartypodcast@gmail.com.
If you don’t do syndicated podcasts, and just want to download this week’s MP3 and play it on your player of choice, click here.
(Note: I swear I’m going to get a better mic — but I’m not allowed to buy myself anything for a while ’cause I got a birthday coming up. After that though — new headset).

Hmm… this isn’t playing for me, so I hope other people are having better luck.
However, it looks like the download link (the very last one) is working, so you can always download it and play.
I still dont understand why the Drenai racial is a bad one for hunters. Having that extra 1% hit would be ok i think.
Can we hear the hole song your friend Mike is cooking on?
The small bit in the podcast sounded really awsome!
Good job guys. Can we get an ETA on the next one? Are you releasing them on weekends?

The idea is to do them once a week – depending on schedules. We just got a bit behind on the production end. So my guess is we’ll see the next one early next week. Possibly very early indeed.
Oh, and Ulftar, the problem with the Dresnei racial is just that there’s so much hit on gear. Either you get too much hit and are wasting a bunch, or you’re not able to use the best gear in the game in an effort to avoid the hit.

it worked fine for me, i listened to it a few hours ago straight through with no problems. and bro youre right, you need a better mic. you sound like youre on the phone
but im glad youre contributing more, im glad to hear you real time and pick up tidbits from you that way.
Quad never ceases to amaze me. the fact he plays is amazing enough. the fact he plays well is mind blowing, but the fact he plays hard modes? puts me to shame. im always in awe.
concerning the nightmare tear, i use one to satisfy my meta (that needs all 3 colors). i try to get creative and put it in a place where i can get the most bang for my buck, score a worthwhile socket bonus with it. what im not completely sure about is when to use the 10agil10crit gem (dead ametrine) over the 20 agil ruby in a yellow socket (i dont even worry about blue sockets since stam for MM isnt as important)
for example, i got the widebarrel flintlock yesterday (horde version of the diplomat off 10m twins). it has a yellow slot with a +4 agil bonus. to me, putting a deadly ametrine in there (for a total of 14 agil and 10 crit) *seems* like a inferior choice compared to using the 20 agil gem (though EAP ranks it a few points higher). but what about 6 agil yellow socket bonus, is 16agil 10 crit better than 20 agil? i know the numbers are miniscule on a socket by socket basis, but i figure it may add up over time, especially when trying to go for max pew. the only socket bonus ive went for to date is the LW crafted mail 245 chest, it has 3 slots (one of each color) and an 8 agil bonus. i put 20 agil ruby, nightmare tear (to satisfy my meta and blue socket), and the 10 agil 10 crit (for the yellow socket). i figure thats well worth it. other socket bonuses, im not sure.

For me, a +4 agil bonus on a yellow socket makes the 10agil 10crit gem better than 20 agil. Just trust your EAP values on that decision

Frost, as a former Draenei hunter, I can tell you, I was hit starved. I had 50 hit rating from my gear, that hit bonus was a life saver for me. I have agi/hit gems in all my yellow sockets because I was so void of hit rating. I had 3% from FA, 1% from Heroic Pressence, 1% from gear, 2% from gems and then 1% from hit food : \

Run some heroics and get the emblem gear and you’ll be drowning in hit. Continue on to raiding, and more hit. Certainly hit can be a problem at low gear levels, but the dresnei hit bonus basically screws you on a lot of the best gear in the game.
(Note: if you’re hit starved, use 20 hit gems in your sockets and ignore socket bonuses – except the meta bonus)

I appreciate the advice, but my lowest level gear is my Runestone thats 226. Im full 245 saved 3 or 4 258 pieces. I guess it was just luck of what dropped for me.

Great Show
It is all about the 1% crit to guns XD dwarfs ftw
lol I must be on the edge of a haste/ArPen cap. With my current gear the Blood of the Old God does not shown up on my spread sheet at all. When I upgrade my hand and legs to T9 it suddenly jumps up to being 3/4 BiS. Pyrite Infuser and Grim Toll do the same thing. I am really glad we have Shandara’s spreadsheet to help sort out this stuff for us.
I still hate PUGs…couldn’t get into Ony 10; no achievement etc; but I managed to get into Ony 25man with the same gear and no achieve *shakes head in disbelief* Rolled against most of the raid for Ony’s head and won
. Made it into the top 5 for overall damage done too…not too bad for someone who’s gear rating said Ony 25 was beyond my reach.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again thanks WHU; you have made me “wanted” for raids.
BTW if you don’t have a decent tricket proc…Furious Howl can be left on auto cast; just time Rapid Fire with FH. Not difficult to do at all. Did this over the weekend…nice to think about something other than a Whack-a-mole shot rotation
@Frost – if you’re looking for a way to be able to chat between your two guilds, guild2guild is a great addon we found when we were split into two casual vs raiding guilds.
