Okay, it’s here, armor pen nerf, BM buff, and Onyxia!
Hunter relavant patch notes:
- The Beast Within: The duration of this talent has been reduced to 10 seconds. In addition, hunters with this talent will do 10% additional damage at all times.
- Bestial Wrath: The duration of this talent has been reduced to 10 seconds.
- Master’s Call: This ability now correctly removes the snaring component of Infected Wounds, Frostfire Bolt, and Slow.
- Trap Mastery’s (Survival) tooltip now states the correct amount of snakes summoned.
- Hunter Tier-9 2-Piece Set Bonus: Critical damage from Serpent Sting will now work properly with the Mortal Shots and Expose Weakness talents.
- Armor Penetration Rating: The amount of armor penetration gained per point of this rating has been reduced by 12%.
What doesn’t show on the patch notes but appeared in a blue post on the topic of the stealth volley buff:
The AP coefficient of Volley has been increased from 0.0586 to 0.0837. Base points did not change. This probably did not make the patch notes.
Some inital rough testing on the target dummy with the T9 2-piece set suggests that mortal shots is working with the set bonus; however, it still appears to be using the magical crit (150%) rather than the physical crit damage (200%) of the rest of our shots.
Also, interestingly, the graphic for Mammoth Cutters has changed.

Frost, you missed something in the patch notes for hunters. I’ll cut and paste it here.
Hunter Tier-9 2-Piece Set Bonus: Critical damage from Serpent Sting will now work properly with the Mortal Shots and Expose Weakness talents.
granted, I know its a fix, but it should boost your guys dps some.
The Haterade
Stealth Volley BUFF, you mean, right? Increasing the coefficient, not decreasing. Also, Bornakk just posted that the damage of Volley was increased, although I am not sure if this was in addition too the coefficient change or not.
I guess we’ll see when we handle the many whelps.

Yes, I meant buff!
I’m curious why they felt the need to buff volley, which is just fine as a middle of the pack aoe, but I’m not complaining.
YES for BM!

volley buff is slightly pleasing to me, even though i rarely use it. arp nerf makes me happy because i’ve been leaning away from it for a while because i just did not understand it and i really like knowing why i am stacking a stat
Dues Payer
I like the volley buff as this will increase my AOE damage which will help killing trash and keep my numbers higher while not damaging my spec build. I had a few people now mention oh i got you there on DPS but it was on multiply targets and normally trash pulls which does not really bother me as i am built for a single target fight but any DPS coming my way is good DPS
; Also i top the charts most of the time and very seldom do i get second spot overall been waiting on someone in my guild to top me but im still waiting mind you theres a few getting close now but i should have my 2 x tier 9 pieces soon for another boost. PS love the blue mammoth cutters they look hot.

The best Hunter change though this patch is the new Feed Pet animation! You actually throw a piece of food at your pet and it catches it!
Also noticed the Pauldrons of the Devourer have a new animation, changed from the blue smoke/flame to a red one that leaves significant contrails behind as you run.
Would look pretty snazzy with rocket boots was one an Engineer!
Also it seems that pets only get hurt by targeted damage and not something like AoE damage(Mimrion Phase 2).
Can someone verify this’;
Not enough to bring me back to BM..
Master’s Call looking good now
Hmmmmmmm…. a 10% damage increase at all times without even hitting BIG RED animal button. Anyone already has some dps statistics?
Wow, lots of stacks of Mammoth Cutters!
Not that you need room, but as engineer, the mats for Mammoth Cutters stack and you can create them anytime…
fuck 2 part bonus buff was a lie !!!!
Also, I noticed that killshot has been moved back to a 5 yard min range instead of the 0 range the last patch gave us. /shakes fist at Blizard hating Hunter PVP/
I also noticed that the blue glow on Pauldrons of the Shadow Hunter has been turned into an orange color

That explains why i couldnt kill shot those filthy allies yesterday! Dammit! My favorite part of the patch? New lw drums. Hurray for my huntard having buffs!
Drums rock — though when we were raiding last night I noticed an odd bug; attempting to switch aspects while in combat often left the old one up, which meant I was accidentally atttempting to DPS while still in Viper… as I had dragonhawk up too, thus messing up my alarms.

Frost,
Pike from Aspect of Hare is reporting that wolves are the best ferocity pet now since patch. Have u had the same experience? This is an awesome site, great work. On a side note, Frost, “awesomesauce” is not a very manly or dwarflike word. Sounds pretty fruity or elvish even, just saying.
Wolves have been the best MM and SV pets for a while now. BM I’d still stick with a kitty.
Dear Frost -and anyone else who will chime in- i can only get up too 4.1 dps on things like toc and ulduar
though my gear has several flaws (like the trinkets and some of the gems) i was wondering if you could help with gear changes and maybe rotations
if u can just briefly scan my gear anything will help lol

Fawatam,
I read this blog. I know that Wolves are the best pet for MM and SV and Devilsaurs are the best for BM. That’s like WHU 101. Pike from Aspect of the Hare, another blogger I highly repect, has said she has some new results since the latest patch. I was asking Frost if he had seen that also. Thank u very much. Also Frost, awesomesauce=fruity. Just saying.

I haven’t done testing on the wolf yet in BM post 3.2.2 — I did test it about a week ago, but not with the hunter AP buff and pet damage nerf of BW.
