Majordomo Executus is an intimidating foe for the solo hunter facing him for the first time. After finishing off the other bosses, you go up to his platform to find him with no fewer than eight adds, all lined up.
However, the fight is completely manageable for a well-specced solo hunter.

Executus has two abilities that you need to be aware of. (The adds do some stuff, but you don’t care about it).
- He will occasionally teleport you into the fire pit in the center of the room. Fire bad. Beer bad. So get out of the fire. He’ll teleport your pet too — I just left the pet there, but if you’re having problems keeping your pet healed, you can take him out when he gets ported.
- Executus will also periodically dump all aggro, and almost always make a beeline for you – since you have bunches of healing aggro going of all the time.
Start off by sending in your pet to get aggro. I recommend sending your pet in one direction and Misdirect multi-shoting the other end. Getting aggro on everyone is a tad tricksy, but with FD, not too much trouble. Another good idea is before you start to hit misdirect, then wait for it to only have 15 sec left before sending the pet in — so that you can misdirect a second time very quickly.
Once you’ve rounded up all nine of your opponents, put your pet on Executus. You will keep your pet attacking Executus the entire fight (and you will never attack him). This way when he dumps aggro your pet will be after him instantly. You’ll rely on your pet’s thunderstomp, your misdirects and many Feign Death’s to avoid pulling the adds that you’re actually attacking.
So, you got aggro, your pet is on Executus. Now pick a healer and dps him down. The first couple that you attack will take a lot of misdirects and feign deaths, but later on in the fight your pet will have a lot of aggro on the whole group, just from thunderstomp and it’s own self-heals. Start off by killing all the healers, then the flamewalker elites.
Your pet will need considerable healing, and you’ll definitely need two pieces of T5 set to keep up. I recommend a turtle just in case you lose LoS briefly or get ported at a critical time, shell shield gives you a nice margin of error to work with.
Once all the adds are down Executus submits. Now only one boss remains… Ragnaros the Firelord himself!

What are you up to, 8 MC bosses posted? And with Ragnaros among them, MC is conquered. Grats. Looking forward to the next challenge you tackle.

9 MC bosses to date — still haven’t quite been able to solo Golemagg. I’m thinking he requires a bit more stam gear than I have at the moment.

Maybe you just need to dodge tank him while your pet tanks the dogs further way

Esp with resilience and blood draining DW you should have no problem staying alive, does he really hit that hard with the dogs away?

Blizz has said the new resilience only works on damage from players. Bood draining?
Frost you continue to be my Hero!
Just a question, can you create a solo guide for Thekal and the Bloodlord? the mount dropping bosses? because I really want to solo them so I dont have to rol against other people. I’ve been trying bugs but they aren’t consistent. So please help lol
whats that health addon you use that sits in the middle of your screen? im looking for something like that or siilar. thanks

Not an addon — just press control-V to see health bars over people’s heads
Hi Frostheim,
Thanks for all your posts you’ve inspired me also to go back and solo old content, and relive a lot of old fun memories, i was wondering whether you managed to nail golemagg yet and if not what problems you were encountering?

Yup, I’ve gotten Golemagg, just havn’t gotten around to putting the video together yet. Turns out the secret is in his stacking debuff — it’s only applied to a target that attacks him in melee — so you have to leave your pet attacking a corehound and let aoe threat and MD hold aggro.
Thanks for the tip, i just killed him solo
