Lucifron brings back many happy memories for vanilla raiders everywhere. He was the very first raid boss most of us killed in Molten Core. And from the hunter perspective, he dropped a single tome of Tranquilizing Shot with each kill – giving us the key ability to handle the next boss, Magmadar.
Ah memories!

Be sure to clear at least the first corehound pack before pulling Lucifron. I prefer to clear the first two, just to be on the safe side.
Lucifron has a handful of abilities, most of which you don’t care about as a level 80 extreme soloing hunter. You want to kill his adds first, and then Lucifron.
Lucifron will put a debuff on you that doubles the mana cost of all of your abilities, so you’ll notice your mana going down fast, and probably spend a lot of time in viper. You also want to stay at max range to avoid other damaging spells.
The terrain in the area is pretty rough, which can cause LoS problems, so you might have to reposition Lucifron and his adds a few times.
Kill the adds, then burn Lucifron down. Then imagine the feeling of getting your Tranquilizing Shot for the first time.

Not sure if this comment will still be spotted, but… Anybody else have aggro problems on this fight? Do the adds have some way of dropping their threat table? Because they came at me quite a few times, even when my bear had a good 30 – 40k threat head-start.
