I don’t know why, but Ulduar hates me.
To be fair, I haven’t been able to make it to our Ulduar 25 raids nearly as often as I’d like. I was able to hit the first couple, but then I missed several for various reasons. Either I fall asleep before our midnight start time, or I have plans, or I prop my eyeballs open with toothpicks, but we end up hitting Naxx instead.
At any rate, I’ve only been on about seven Ulduar 25 raids (and eight thousand 10-man runs). And in all seven of those raids, quite literally ZERO hunter loot has dropped. I’m not saying I didn’t get any, I’m saying no hunter loot dropped from any boss in any of the 7 runs. What the heck must those odds be?
Not that hunter loot isn’t dropping at all, mind you. You can pretty much bet that when I miss a raid not only will hunter loot drop, but Kologarn will drop the beautiful, lovely Giant’s Bane. And Hrist will taunt me the next day by telling me all about it. Nothing like waking up before work and checking email to see find Hrist giggling about the raid loot I missed.
The hatred that Ulduar carries for me was reinforced in our 10-man raid recently. Half the hunter gear in there isn’t actually an upgrade from my pre-Ulduar stuff, and the gear that is and upgrade is a pretty small upgrade indeed. There are a couple of nice pieces though, including XT’s gun, Magnetized Projectile Emitter, which has also never dropped, despite 2.4 million 10-man runs.
Now, I should point out that there are two pieces of my current gear that annoy the heck out of me. Both my cloak and my trinket are ilvl 200 pieces. I was never able to win any of the Naxx 25 cloaks, and the damned trinket I bought with emblems of heroism, of all things. And good trinkets are really hard to come by.
Then in our 10-man 405,007th FL takedown, FL dropped the Pyrite Infuser – the single best trinket a ulduar 10-man hunter can get. Just look at that beauty. Think of all the hit gems I could replace! Holy dps gods is that better than the Mirror of Truth by a bunch!
Finally something actually really good drops from Ulduar…

There are some nice things from ulduar 10man (got yoggy for the first time last lockout)
The tier 8 set bonus is sexy, and if you wear full tier gear you look amazing.
The magnetized projectile emitter is amazing and I use it instead of my sirens cry cos it hits so damn hard.
There is a nice cape from kologarn if I remember right, and a trinket from Thorim Hard mode. Also if you do the easier hardmodes (FL+ 2 OR 3, XT, Hodir, steel breaker) you can rack up emblems of conquest.
VOA also can give you some nice upgrades and is easily puggable if you miss your guild run.
If you are good with money the BOE items are available on the AH and some are upgrades (the 219 bracers are quite nice). Also if your guild collects runed orbs the boots and belts are ftw.
Maybe now ulduar is up and running properly you could do a post showing the easiest way to gear yourself for ulduar?

Nothing has dropped from Ulduar for me in any of my 25-man or 10-man runs. I think Ulduar just hates hunters.
Also, once I was running heroic nexus to boost a friend, and we had an AFK rogue. A world epic dropped, http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44308. At the time, the only piece of blue gear I had left was a ring. It went to a warrior. Who had less dps than the healer.

I have to agree as well.. ulduar hates hunters… i too just like you have done quite a bit of the 10 man runs vs the 25 man( 25′s always run way to late for me) and almost always nothing ever drops for the hunter. The only thing i have managed to get is the trinket above. It dropped twice for us and that’s about it. The other hunters and i in my guild are getting rather frustrated. But we are still plugging away at it in hopes one day something will drop for the hunters!

Funny story… On my 1st Ulduar 10man, with my Rogue, this trinket drops and this hunter and I roll on it… guess who won the roll? To the same hunter to whom I had lost Webbed death… (I hate him !!!) lol.
Anyways… yeah hunters do win … that’s why my main is now a Hunter

Sorry mate, but Ulduar doesn’t hate hunters… So far i’ve got that trinket, Twisted Visage (THE MOST awesome staff ever!), Golem Heart Longbow, Bracers of the Smothering Inferno and Gloves of Taut Grip. And have probably only done 4 or 5 lockdowns. (1 or 2 in 25man)

I had the same crap luck in Kara. My guild hit it for months and i never got a single drop. Just huge repair bills. All i really wanted was that ring off Curator anyway. I was rolling mostly Brutal gear so the armor drops really weren’t an upgrade.:( The first night I was ever late they pugged a guy and wouldn’t you know it… that damn ring dropped.
My wife and I have a guild now that’s just our mains and alts no one else so we don’t raid and it was hard at first but now it’s nice not having to get bummed out about drops and who gets what and why did they get it i earned it and blah blah blah lol.

I haven’t ever seen that gun drop off of XT though. We typically get some cloth thing we DE and some SP mail shoulders that we DE. Oh well, there is always next week! 
Well this might sound bad but i got the trinket last lockout, but have been unable to use it, i normally get on few minutes before raid and rarely during the day so all the money iget go to pots and arrows (i know not an engi) so have not been able to switch out gems and enchants. Also the gear i have would still put me a lot above the hit cap even without the gems, so im thinking it will not be worth it untill i lose some hit. Also isn’t that gun off of hard mode XT.

I’m kinda glad I haven’t won the Pyrite Infuser. Eventually it’s more than possible to be hit capped from other gear, so that 95 hit ends up going to waste. I’m still holding out hope for the Mjolnir Runestone from Thorim, however.
Otherwise, my condolences Frost. I don’t have 2 pieces of tier 8, despite double-digit numbers of runs through Ulduar 10. But I have probably 6-7 219 pieces, and the t8 will come soon, so I can’t complain.

Besides, you could always just hunker down for a month or so and grind out your Darkmoon Card. Still BiS after you’re hit capped, according to sources I’ve seen. Along with your Fury trink, you practically won’t need Ulduar trinks, even 25M.
Yeah the Darkmoon card is sweet. I’ve got it on my hunter and druid. A couple weeks of grinding dailies and i bought up all the cards. Had to wait 2weeks though for the fair to come around but worth it. And believe me that thing procs ALL THE TIME. It’s procced off mend pet out of combat. Even procced off healing myself with a bandage lol. Totally worth it
BTW – it cost me about 6400 gold to buy 2 sets of the individual cards as apposed to 7-10k for one trinket on my server. It was pretty easy to wait the two weeks for the fair when your saving that kinda gold

its weird for me, i go in phases where im incredibly unlucky, then boom, insane luck back to back. for the longest time i had wraith spear (rolled no higher than 12 on black ice, saw it drop 4 times). i had nerubian gun for ages. an old trinks, no good rings, just blah.
then in one glorious week, i got cryptfiends bite, envoy of mortality (rolled 100 somehow), my darkmoon card, grim toll, and a green proto. just out of the blue. i also had bandits insignia from earlier, that was a good trink. ive got a few ulduar things but havent got to run it enough :\
pyrite dropped like 7 times for us, I passed it every time.
Feel your pain, have ran uld 10/25 many of times, never seen any hunter type items from at all. until tonight, we had a rough start, wiped atleast 5 times on ignis for crying out loud, we then headed off to kolo, and low and behold the gun dropped. i was sitting with 10man KT gun, i could see the two other hunters dribling…
GM asks for bids.. im thinking.. 2k dkp.. gotta be worth it.. but no what about the dps warriors or the other hunters.. they have atleast 6k.. gotta bid more.. want gun so badly..

I felt alot of relief, i saved dkp but in the same sence felt bad for the other hunters as it was a big upgrade to them aswell..
As the night went on with had quite a few stupid mistakes, ended up with the 8.5helm then we called it and got a group together for some hardmode 10man style. which i must say went extremely well. apart from Flame lev constantly bugging out
I have a level 80 hunter, as im sure most of you do, lol, but anyways, im just wondering, im a big raider, and im dual specced for arena, Raid spec is SV and arena is MM, should i change anything up? im just trying to max out my DPS for raids, and kill ppl quick in arena
Just got the http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45263 yesterday from Kologarn 25-man. Same happened to me Frost, there were no hunter loots until yesterday. All 3 hunters in the raid got one hunter loot and i am very pleased to have this trinket since i can use this with other such as Heroism/ Call of the Wild
Whats weird is that I have been experiencing the same thing as you. We run 25′s every week and not one single piece of hunter loot….then….tonight I got Giant’s Bane. You time will come! (ps I won with a 27 >.)
Ive been raiding ulduar for 4 strait months the only drop i won was sirens cry. Ive seen the gloves off the 1st boss and a sword off the council and thats it were in ulduar 5 days a week nice to see there’s others experiencing this too i dont understand the logic in making our loot harder to get as a nerf half the reward is being able to gear your toon. I dont miss many days either but.time after time the same thing plate cloth shammy mail wtf
I agree about the trinkets and cape! I can’t seem to get anything to drop either. The last 25 man I did a decent pair of boots dropped off of Razor.. not a big UG but I figured I’d bid for it bc I wasn’t expecting to see anything else that night. We manage to burn Ignis in 1 shot.. then moved to Kolo, again 1 shot and lo and behold drops Giant’s Bane!!! Argghhh! Goes to our other hunter…. I would give up 10 pairs of boots for that stupid gun….

I have not seen any drop in there either. It’s plate, plate and more plate. The other day our pally got 7 drops off of 4 bosses! *sigh*
For the most part, besides tier gear, none of the loot in 10 man Ulduar is better then 25man Naxx gear.
Envoy is better then any bow that drops in 10 man.
Two things (Mjolnir Runestone and Magnetized Projectile Emitter) are better. Mjolnir (Probably 3rd or 4th BIS trinket) drops of Thorim hard mode and the gun drops of XT hard mode.
Pyrite Infuser really isn’t that good unless you need the hit. Mirror doesn’t give as much AP but the ton of crit makes up for it.
don’t really care about the loot…as long as ur guild is progressing…i rather have the steel proto drake more than bis gear…to be honest what’s cooler???
btw…just farm gold and get nobles deck…still one of the bis trinket…then less QQ
Got two pieces of T8.5, Belt of the Betrayed, Twisted Visage + third T8.5 piece with emblems thanks to our last run. Before that I’ve gotten Giant’s Bane, Magnetized Projectile Emitter, the gloves from FL, Helm of the Furnace Master and Saronite Mesh Leggings. So yes, I can say Ulduar has been very generous

Good trinket? Hmm, k, it will let you spend your points from focused aim to something else if you not already hit capped… But where are you going to put them so they make up for the almost 2% crit rateing from the Mirror of Truth. The AP proc on this trinket is a little higher but doesnt make up for the 2% crit loss… If it drops for me, i will prob pass…
Ulduar has been good to the OTHER hunter in my guild.. sigh.. she won the roll for the Pyrite Infuser a few nights ago and has been kicking my butt in DPS ever since (we used to rotate for top spot fairly evenly). But I DID win Fury of the Five Flights in 25 man OS, so i guess she deserved the Pyrite Infuser..
I think we’ve all had that problem before. I ran Karazhan almost every week, starting with raiding and then just badge farming and never saw Legacy or Prince’s bow the entire Burning Crusade.
Ulduar 25 so far has been ok, got Giants Bane, Lotrafen and 3 of my 8.5. So far all I’m waiting on that I’ve never seen drop is Razorscale 25 legs. Still want them over 8.5.

wow i guess im just lucky. i got twisted visage tueday, sirens cry thursday. the other hunter won giants bane on tuesday after i won the staff. thats about all that dropped for hunters, but theyre best in slot i think, at least close. sry frost, i feel for ya.
