Stops the useless ganking at BG's a bit. The amount of Rogues in general went down a lot since DK's.
Don't get me wrong, playing a Rogue well, requires serious effort and having one in you team is a great asset, but just as we had too many huntards, too many teenagers roled Rogue and screwed up BG's by just ganking.

Indeed, and it is on BG’s better as well. Part of the reason I stopped playing my hunter in BC was because of the 'huntard' stigma attached to them. Too many (hunters, not tards) in my guild meant little space for me to get in. My response? Levelling a shaman to 70 to heal stuff and to raid. Now that dks are around, it seems that hunters have been given some of the overdue respect that they deserve. Glad to be back ;). great site too. It's given me a lot of insight to get back into the class. I have to say that pre-woltk tanks that rolled a DK did become really good DK tanks...I think it has to do with the fact that by playing a tank prior to DK they knew what a tank had to do...it was the pre-woltk non tank players that when rolling a DK weren't tanking well and gave the DK's a bad name..

I'm levelling mine now and looking forward to raiding with it, but if I could pick any class to start at level 55 it sure as hell wouldn't be DK. But... I have absolutely no desire to churn out 55 boring levels all by myself for the Nth time. They may have sped up levelling somewhat, but 1-55 which DKs skip still takes quite a long time and it's painfully boring. I have tried, I have multiple alts on 2 accounts but I hit the wall around level 24, staring up at 35ish more levels just to get to Outlands.
Blizz needs to implement level 55 toons of any class, even if it's a paid service (and I'm quite sure it would be).

I think people are missing an important point here. Well I do, I object that when I'm reduced to pugging the WG raid instance I have to put up with the packs of deathtards wearing L72 quest greens doing mid ranged dps, and sprouting the sort of comments that leave you knowing that behind that character sits a barely toilet trained monkey. I laughed at the joke the average hunter became during the diremaul teleport hack hunter farming days, when sees of wow's very own brand of pokemon trainers swarmed the starting areas. I came into making a DK at wotlk release knowing full well that despite blizz's statements DKs would be strong for the power gamer in me, to abuse a new set of play mechanics in a way they weren't designed. I expected there to be a huge population of them initially. I didn't quite bank on the masses that'd stick with it due to the overly easy time levelling them was. But... the nerfs have been coming in dribs and drabs, and the relative power is much lower than it was, I'd go as far to say they're very nearly inline now in pve (I don't give pvp any attention unless pvp nerfs affect my pve). And as much as i get attention in my own little corner for soloing oldworld bosses, my first big solo kill was onyxia at 70 with a prot paladin. (mage was main back then, but i think the pally ended up better geared before wotlk came around) I expect I could be doing all that I've done on my DK with a prot paladin too (in fact, i suspect I could have solo'd kara as a pally, where Curator's disese immunity makes him a much more difficult kill as a DK)

Being a DK switcher some might think i object to the statements above. We have a pala tank in the guild that has leveld up a DK tank and honestly he rocks the house as a tank on our runs... He is a good player so that makes the difference but hell when you see people play their class in style, any class seems tempting to play.
Apart from that, I am eternally greatful for having the DK class pull out the huntard, then again so did the retri pala...

I don’t play a DK, well if gettin one to 58 is playin it then d’oh… in defense of this class though, when played well, they sure can help a hell of a lot in an instance… We have a pala tank in the guild that has leveld up a DK tank and honestly he rocks the house as a tank on our runs… He is a good player so that makes the difference but hell when you see people play their class in style, any class seems tempting to play.

Apart from that, I am eternally greatful for having the DK class pull out the huntard, then again so did the retri pala…

By: Sthellesta

<guid

BM = Pet management, if your pet dies, even once, you just lost a good chunk of DPS. Also have to pay attention for good times for melee DPS to hit your Bestial Wrath.
SV = Proc / Cooldown management. SV's cooldowns are a mix match of random numbers(6, 24, 15/21, and 10). Being able to hit them in the right order and the right time is key to SV. Then watching for LnL procs to change up your normal rotation.
MM = umm, being able to hit shots? MM only has 3 cooldowns to watch and with a weak pet, I would consider MM to be the easiest spec.

Eh, I wouldn’t say BM is easier to play than the other specs, it just takes different kind of skill.

BM = Pet management, if your pet dies, even once, you just lost a good chunk of DPS.
