So our crew headed into the bowels of Ulduar, and we made some good progress.  We’re not as fast as those crazy people that already have it beat and have achievements for killing the end boss in some freaky way, but we’re in there.  Which is more than some, and not as good as others I would wager.

So this is us standing on his corpse, the Usual Cast.

The Usual Cast

The Usual Cast

From the front left we have the Commie Tank with back turned as usual, then our AFK Rogue, then a tree healer (who went unmentioned but shouldn’t have because of his steadfastness and good naturedness and leafy boughs).  Then is our badass mage, and don’t let his big blue dress fool you.  Then is me with the pretty eyes and well groomed hair, then the dirty mook in front with the banger is Frost, and then the Hate Tank is the right front.

In back is our Swamp Chic whom we all love dearly, then our Cheerleader in the rear center, and back in deep right field (it takes a good arm to play right field, don’t knock it) is our Mana Batter sporting some old gear but he got a couple good upgrades tonight and next week I’ll have more mana for it.

My impression of Ulduar so far is its pretty hard, but not impossible, but learning it is like learning to do a Rubic’s cube, underwater, in a striaght jacket, with a blindfold on, while being pounded in the head with a ballpeen hammer.

Really, this is some complex shit.  But that makes all the wiping more fun, and at least gives a sense of rewarding as opposed to endless lolpulls and lolaoe.

Example: At one point we wiped to a boss in about 12 seconds.  Our tree says, “Great pull.”  And it was, the pull went perfect.  Then we fell apart on second 4, and wiped in 8 more.  But hey, we learned that pull.

The point: Don’t forget the tree.

ive noticed these fights are multi-phased (like several full phases) and LONG. i go through mana like no ones business in there if i dont have a battery. burning pots, but flipping into viper lowers overall dps. my 10 man performance is blech because of that.

Mana management is most definitely a fun added challenge. worth adding that Viper Sting is now a great way to reduce the time spent in Aspect of the Viper if you’re fighting a boss with a mana bar.

Even better if there are adds with mana bars being off tanks since you can drop it on one of those and keep DPSing the boss.

I get sad that I am not in that picture. I have yet to go into Uld due to the drama that is my waking existance.

I’m planning on being in there on Thursday if there is room guys. I’ll be on more now, I promise.

Good old Commie Tank, always too good to be seen with us. :(

  5. Commie Tank says:

Yeah, cuz that screen-cap was totally choreographed. (Though, you gotta admit, I got a cute…. cloak.)
