I had a great time at the WHU BBQ on Monday, and I’d like to thank everyone that showed up and made a great day of the BBQ. We started at 1 and went until around 10pm, with various people coming and going throughout the day. All told we had maybe 20-25 people show up.
Conversations were largely WoW-centric, ranging from such perennial favorite as what Blizz should be doing (my favorite: and option to dye your armor to the colors you want), great moments in raids past, and of course discussions of optimizing talent builds. Interspersed were real life conversations about work and school and the occasional naughty turn that is inevitable (and delightful) in any social gathering.
Hrist, Commie Tank, the Cheerleader, and Cocky Mage were all on hand. Cocky Mage lived up to his name and did in fact bring photos to sign, and he handed out quite a bit more than I expected.
Amid all the great WoW conversation, tasty grilled food, and comings and goings I forgot about my camera for hours on end. However, I did get a few shots, and at various times other people grabbed the camera and got some additional shots, usually when I was doing something silly. Here they are:

With so much WoW geekery afoot, how could I be expected to remember the camera?

Frostheim prepares to explain the Ulduar Kologarn fight. The positioning here is exactly what our 10-man group uses. The half-crushed cans are, of course, the dwarves. Hrist is the mustard.

People watch on in rapt awe. The strategy is like an elaborate dance and the explanation is apparently enthralling. I don't remember who the beer was. I know Arust wanted to be the pickles and Badass Mage was the water bottle.

... and then he crushes Frost while Cheerleader sits there and lets him die (she's the Mountain Dew).
Future generations of WoW players were also present.
A handful of dedicated die-hards stay after sunset, warmed by fire and comaradarie in equal parts.
Looks like it was an aweomely good time.
I agree much fun was had:D It was a pleasure to be able laugh in person at all the Doh! moments we have shared.

Looks like you all had a ball, reminds of one of our good old Aussie BBQs wish you were closer I would of made the effort but being on the other side of the world makes things hard.

Yup El, that was Llurs and the little one along with daddy rogue. The little one takes after her mother, fury warrior all the way. Its all I can do to vanish and flee to the basement when Sienna pops battle shout (somehow it doesnt surprise me Llur’s child has infinite rage) One day, one group or the other will have to visit en masse.
