Okay, I’ve been putting it off forever, because I’m a lazy, lazy dwarf. But it’s time to HTFU and start getting some videos made.
The starting point is getting some kind of video capture software. I got nothing on this front — can anyone out there recommend a good source for capturing WoW videos?
Also, what do people recommend for editing? I’ve got an ancient copy of Adobe Premiere, but it isn’t really designed for this kind of thing and tends to fuzzy-up screen captures as it messes with the pixel aspect ratio.

Give Fraps a try.
i think fraps is popular for recording.
you may want to check with the guys at tankspot or hobbs, since they constantly make and upload videos to blogs and youtube and what not.
for recording try getting avid there are basic versons out there but the suped up versoin are what most A.C.E. members use i learnt on it when did film its imba. thou premiere is liked by a lot of ppl i just could never get along with it
I’m familiar with Avid, and that seems to be *way* overboard for what this requires. I’m hoping there’s some cheap or free software that is designed to work with video captures, so it doesn’t mess up the pixel aspect ratio when importing (for the record, Premiere and FCP both do that).
Camstudio I believe is free and does what fraps can.
I think.
I don’t knowhow good it is, but W egame (http://www.wegame.com/download/) is specifically designed to record games like wow and calls itself “an alternative to fraps”.
Oh yeah, and it’s free.
I’ve also used Camstudio before. It is free and works well.
