Today we salute BRK, the grandaddy of hunter bloggers, who has retired after years of service.
BRK has had a profound impact on the hunter community. He brought information, humor, entertainment, and a great soul to hunters around the world. His blog was the only WoW blog that I read every day, and he has touched the lives of tens of thousands of hunters like me, and like you. His articles and videos were hosted on Wow-Insider, Project Lore, and who knows where all else. In addition he had regular podcasts, t-shirts, spirit beast toys, and stories of his airforce days. Bigredkitty.net was like nowhere else.
BRK taught us that it’s not enough just to maximize our dps and top the charts, but instead we must do so with a sense of community. He didn’t allow the kind of nasty elitist comments that plague the WoW forums on his blog. Everyone was there to have fun, to be entertained, and to learn. He led by his own example of compassion and fairness and selfless giving to the hunter community.
He was a hunter who paid his dues, and there is no bigger compliment we know how to give.
As much as his retirement saddens us all, we do not find it appropriate to mourn his passing from our lives. He is, after all, making time for his wife and his family. He is finding time for that which fulfills him, and we cannot mourn that.
Instead, let us all send a farewell together:

I’m tearing up just thinking about it… wait, who is BRK? All you hunters look alike to me.
@ Neven. Why are you here???
As for BRK. He wasnt the best theorycrafter out there to be sure. But he did help alot of new Hunters out. He was good with the basics and that is all it takes to build someone into a great player.
So /salute.

Just wanted to throw a thank you out there to the original hunter blogger that helped to guide me through my early days as a new hunter. Not only did you help me become a better player, but you entertained me all the while. Thanks BRK!
So it’s sad to see you go, BRK, but it’s totally and completely understandable. I hope all goes well in the family realm post WoW. I’ll be sure to check in on Hobbes once in a while to make sure he’s doing ok without his favorite hunter buddy
