I often wonder how other bloggers do their blogging. Do they write up a whole bunch of posts at a time? Do they have a queue of posts ready to publish whenever they want?

I’m wondering this now in particular, since I am blogging to you from the past!

In my day job I’m a globetrotting secret agent that saves almost as many lives as I take, however as these things usually go, I have a cover job in an office. And for that cover job I am currently at a Trade Show in St. Louis (or possibly that’s just a cover for a secret death-dealing black-ops assignment). Anyhow, so yesterday’s post, and this one, were written on wednesday and then just scheduled to post automatically on the correct day.

It’s strange to me, because it’s not my usual process.

Typically I sit down each day, at a random time, and write whatever springs to mind. Often I have a handful of screenshots from recent raids and make a post about those. Or I write about last night’s raid. Or I read something on another hunter forum or blog that pisses me off because it’s so inaccurate and I feel the need to correct it. When all else fails and I have no inspiration, I finally break down and write another guide that I’ve been meaning to write.

Then I’m done for the day (though I read comments all day long, ’cause that’s what secret agents do).

So sitting here on Wednesday (in the past!) I’ve already posted an article about Arust whipping it out during the raid. Then, with no other ideas, I finally wrote the guide about how threat and aggro works that I’ve been meaning to write forever. Without another big guide on my to-do list, I’m suddenly not sure what to post. I mean, how to you top a post about Arust’s shlong?

The answer is: you don’t.

You could have arust write something. He’s a slacker elf I know, but he could wax on about how the 13th warrior is the best move evar or something like that. Or he could write a guide on how to macro that thing they do/did. Yeah there you go. You just need to learn to delegate :D

  2. Axebrew says:

But don’t delegate too much. GD might get jealous.

… or, perhaps, it might be a welcome break for Gnolldeath.

  3. Axebrew says:

Oh, and while you’re asking about doing stuff, there are a few comments in one of the macro posts that are still awaiting moderation and posting.

  4. This is good for everyone.
