choppa-achievement

The achievement: Get to the Choppa! is all about fanatical devotion to making money.  Much like paying dues.  Except in this case the majority of the dues go to the goblin Rixi Ramrocket in K3.  Really, I’m sure she’s a great person, but after being worked over for the amount she charges, I’d rather hit her with The Stoppable Force than my Love Rocket.

You buy roughly 12,500 gold worth of materials from her.  Then you need 40 Cobalt Bolts, 2 Arctic Fur, and 12 Titansteel Bars.  The bars were the hardest part, and required a lot of farming for the eternals.  I found it more cost effective to buy 36 titanium bars and the 36 eternals than buy 12 Titansteel bars.  Conditions may vary on your server, but check into it if you’re going for this mount.

That’s me working with Gnolldeath my trusty bear on the mount.  He’s trying to help, but without thumbs he was mainly just yelling at me to hit the parts harder.

  2. Eddras says:

Gzz how u make the money thats the bit im struggling on

  3. Arust says:

Mainly I sell Mana Potion Injectors (the Runic ones). But I also sell potions (I’m an Alchemist/Engineer). They key is to buy materials for less than what you sell them for on the AH. It sounds silly, but conditions may vary.

I also sell Recipe: Goblin Rocket, which still sells. Don’t ask me why. And I sell ammo from engineering.

But whatever your professions are, find stuff people need for raiding or questing, and then sell that stuff. Or just sell things people want to buy. Which is good advice in any market. Not just wow.

  4. Totally Not Hrist says:

I just siphon 2% off Arust’s inflow of gold to make my mad cash. He is rolling in so much gold he never even notices. Here’s hoping he doesn’t read this….

P.S. Where is Gnolldeath in the side car????

  5. Volcomstone says:

I recently gave up on my quest to get this sweet ride. I can’t sell mana injectors because all my mats go towards making them for the guild. Do you have an alt with mining/herb that you get mats from or are you just insanely good at the AH that you dont need it?

  6. Yorigrim says:

You an listen to this while you ride it around:

  7. Neven says:

You know Arust, my birthday is coming up… I can make the titansteel myself, but if you wanna buy the parts for me, I’d totally send you the cobalt and titansteel needed…

  8. Twocold says:

Considering the amount of work and gold required to get that thing….. id rather just borrow my Dad’s Harley =P

  9. Belegcom says:

Totally sick that you even got that dang thing!! gratz

  10. Tempest says:

Nice! Is it worth it to be a engineer as a hunter? Theres the arrows, and the truesight ice blinders. The gun is a plus too. So I’m leaning towards it, I’m just wondering what you guys think.

Oh, and second prof is mining.

  11. Arust says:

Yes, I rather like engineering. I find it worth it, and I define worth it as “I enjoy it.”

Is it the best raiding profession? Probably not.

At the moment, there is nothing BIS that engineering gives you. It was super nice when we just hit 80. That said, in the next patch 3.2 there should be some cool love for engineers, and the cloak enchant may be BIS.

And as far as mining goes, its probably not the best raiding profession either. If you’re SV, it gives you some AP, but the skinning one gives raw crit. :D

  12. Oyless says:

I find that Engineering is a hunters best friend for the main reason that Engineers can make our own Ammo. If a hunter is not an Engineer then you have to buy less powerful Ammo or buy Ammo from Engineers on AH (like myself :) ). On my realm Mammoth Cutters are in constant demand and go for 10g a stack, at the very least and 3 times more on Sundays and Tuesdays, and the Razorheads go for 8g a stack, at the least. Very quick way to make money with the material reduction cost for making both.

  13. Jim says:

Finally got my choppa last night. Man what a fund drain that was. The worst was the golem parts for 3k. That’s just salt in the wounds after the eight goblin pistons for 8k and the exhaust pipe for 1.5k.

I have two toons with 450 mining… so just about a week of making titansteel bars in parallel.

    Looks sweet tho!

  14. Massai says:

Is there truth to the rumor that you can farm the mats for this off of ulduar bosses?

  15. Massai says:

Oh and how bout a guide for biulding jeeves?

  16. Illandria Sunshadow says:

    I LOVE LOVE my bike..
I saved for months to get mine for my Birthday last year.
    Best present to myself ever!!

  17. Oyless says:

As for farming the mats in Ulduar, I’ve never personally seen any of them drop. Now farming for Jeeves, you just need to Scrap any and all mechanicals in the Ulduar area, not just inside the instance but also around the instance.

If you are trying to get up enough Gold to buy the parts for the Choper, luckily you can buy them one at a time. Personally I used the AH and started my Loremaster Achievement of Northrend. By the time you get the achievement you should’ve been able to buy all the pieces. The most you’ll ever need to save up at any one time is 3000g, then 1500g, then 1000g eight times. Its a lot easier than people think.

  18. Grumpzi says:

I am a hunter aswell, and I’m Engeneering / mining so I could get all the “created” parts, but how could I earn all that money?? :)

  19. hahaha says:

Jeeves: lol while i was running randoms it actually dropped in HoS ad then later i got on my druid and it dropped in HoL lol
