We all perceive the world a little bit differently. Some of us perceive the world a lot differently. I like to think that I have a slightly more factual worldview than most, but when it comes to WoW, there is certainly a Frostheim-specific skew to things. Not a distortion so much as a piercing through irrelevant trifles to find the true meaning. Well, the meaning as it matters to me, anyway. This view is not always kind.
Okay, it’s usually not kind.
But it’s not about kindness, it’s about clear insight. Here’s what I mean by the Frostheim Goggles: if you put on a pair of Frostheim goggles you would see the world stripped down of meaningless things (like, say, feelings) and get to the heart of matters.
Example: You might be in a raid and glance at the dps meters and see that the number two position is a badass ret pally, running close on your heals. You might notice that he’s really pumping out the numbers nowadays, and perhaps you’d remember him back from his healing days, his quests to get better gear, the good times you shared in raids past, in MC, Onyxia, etc. In other words you might feel proud of his badassedness and you might recognize him for his accomplishments, hopes, dreams, fears, all the little things that make him who he is.
Put on your Frostheim goggles and you see this:

So I think we can agree that we’re both seeing the same thing, basically, but I’m just seeing it more succinctly.
So with that in mind, I’ve been getting a lot of emails, which isn’t anything new. But there have been several emails on the same topic. They were polite and complimentary. But through the Frostheim goggles they look like this:
Dear Frostheim,
Why the hell do you hate MM hunters so much, you douchebag. Get off your lazy ass and write talent guides and shot cycle guides for MM. Throughout WotLK we’ve been #2 dps, and we still are. You have guides for the low dps BM hunter. Get your act together.

So yeah, the cruel view of the Frostheim goggles works both ways. I’m going to work on getting these put together.
Can’t you just ask Arust? He’s been MM the whole time you’ve been dilly dallying between BM and SV.
Or maybe he will wait till you post something and reply about how you are wrong and that bears are the best pet for MM dps
Bears are the best for everything.
Also, is the phrase douchebag making a comeback? I hadn’t really ever heard that phrase much until about 4-5 months ago. Now I hear it all over. Heck, I reckon it will be the 1st inappropriate word I hear the kids say.
