10 man night last night.
Discussion on our 10-man wiki site about what to do. Screw Naxx, we decided. We want to learn Maly. After all, we finally got our entire raid to conquer the Heigan lava dance in just 3 weeks, how long could Maly take?
And here we are contemplating our own remains. It’s a humbling experience.
I don’t know what it is about our 10-man group, but as a whole we’re pretty schizophrenic. Our 25-man raid progress through content pretty logically. Hitting walls, then steadily pushing through them.
Not our 10 man.
Take Maly: we die on phase 2. We get to phase 3 a couple times, then for the next 9 attempts we wipe on phase 1. No sparks getting through, we just randomly die. Then all of the sudden we have a good 3 minutes on phase 3. Then next time we wipe on phase 2. Back and forth with no apparent rhyme or reason.
It’s frustrating because I can’t really tell how much we’re improving overall. Without question we got much better on phase 1, at least when no one disconnected in the middle of the fight. But on everything else we seem to be all over the place.
Hrist, the haterade, as you might imagine, was thrilled with the evening’s performance.
I know your pain. We finally downed 10 man Malygos this past Sunday (After about 9 attempts). Phase 1 and 2 would go without a hitch, we would hit Phase 3 and we’d dropping like flies. We finally figured out what we were doing wrong, we were all way to close. On the next attempt we backed up to about 34-40 yards and we made it the first try. Champions of the Frozen Waste, woot! Can’t wait to clear 25 man.
It is funny how the momentum swings back and forth after wipes…we always start really hot, and then hit a reaaaaal low about try 4 or 5, but then usually rally and (hopefully) finish what we started. Course, its always dependant on how much the healers have had to drink at that point…
yea the best part about that Vael is when you find the happy medium where the Healers are Buzzin adn the DPS is smashed… equals great heals and rediculous DPS hahahh. Thats a new guild requirement come to raid pre Flighted… hahaha
