- Arcane Shot: Mana cost lowered to match the cost of Steady Shot.
- Explosive Shot: Damage increased substantially, and additional scaling added to compensate Survival Hunters for the decrease in power of Steady Shot. No longer deals damage to secondary targets.
- Tranquilizing Shot has had its cooldown reduced to 6 seconds, down from 15.
So Arcane Shot having the mana reduced is significant — Blizz is trying to get us to use Arcane Shot in our rotations, which we weren’t before because it was too expensive for the damage. Now though… Arcane Shot is magic, so it should ignore armor, making it preferable to Steady Shot — especially with Steady Shot’s damage being reduced. Looks like we’ll have to update our macros to cast Arcane when it’s up (note: we’re still just pushing one button so thhbbbtt).
Tranq Shot cooldown reduction is very nice for some boss encounters, particularly Sartharion!
Blue also made a ton of bug fixes, lots of them relating to pets, though I didn’t see the ones I really wanted on the list (see all blue post notes Here). The big one were:
Spirit Beast had it’s spirit strike adjusted so that it’s gonna work with longevity. We all knew that was coming. Call of the Wild changes as stated before, only helping you and your pet. Aspect of the Beast will now give your pet the correct amount of attack power (wtf? What was it doing before?)
The only other really interesting one is that cower no longer shares a cooldown with growl. I guess that’s good? I mean, the only reason you would ever have cower and growl on at the same time is because hunter pet abilities are bugged all to hell and randomly turn on and off when you login, enter an instance, or res. You’d never do that on purpose!
What would have been nice to see was that they fixed cower so that it actually auto-casts!

Wait, since its considered “magic”, would it need the rediculously high hit rate that us casters have to deal with? Cuz I dont know bout you, but I dont know any hunters that are willing to have a 385 hit rating.
not sure how much of a buff this is if it misses all the time.
What do you think Blizz hates us Neven, that they would treat us like a mage!?
No, our hit cap for a boss is 8% like always, with all shots. And we can get 3% of that from three talent points at the very top of a talent tree. Sometimes it’s good to be a hunter
