In other words this will just tell you how much attack power one agility gets you, etc. It won't directly tell you whether 1 agility is better than 1 haste.
When we say 14 attack power is 1 dps, we're talking about white (auto-shot) damage only, as that is the conversion.
If you're interesting in stat weights -- how much actual dps you get from 1 agility or 1 ranged dps, you'll want to read the guide on using spreadsheets, found here: http://www.warcrafthuntersunion.com/2010/02/how-to-choose-gear-using-spreadsheets/

Please understand that these are stat *conversion* rates — not stat weights. I realise that it's a bit more involved than that when comparing stats (e.g. comparing two weapons, one with 5 more dps with another with x amount more agility) since max dmg of the weapon, weapon speed, the fact that other stats give other bonuses (agility giving extra crit, etc.), but at least that give a decent ball park figure.

Doh! nm, I see that you do actually have 14AP = 1 dps. I can't seem to find the conversion rate for ranged weapon dps and it's not in your list? I've read that weapon dps is the absolute best stat, but by how much? +1 dps on weapon = how many AP, etc.? Apologies if this is answered somewhere (I'm sure it is) but I can't find it.

First, thanks for the great website and all the info!

I can’t seem to find the conversion rate for ranged weapon dps and it’s not in your list? If an item has 10 agi and another has 10AP, then the pet will receive the same percentage AP from either. True or False.

I just need a simple answer. On the bright side, that will be the case in Cataclysm, at least according to their current plans :)

It does not.

On the bright side, that will be the case in Cataclysm, at least according to their current plans <img

Dont tell me i've been wrong the whole time?

But ive read that 1 Agi = 2 RAP (this is the reason one chooses +16 agi enchant on boots instead of AP enchant!). I only recently dinged 80 on my hunter and was struggling to make sense of it all. Between this site and your podcasts, I am learning so much and becoming more confident. I mean, I am still confused where spreadsheets and that are concerned, but the information I am getting here is helping me tremendously. I REALLY appreciate it.

Thanks Frostheim! What a help this site has been. Toon is Bullduster on Khaz'Goroth realm. Thanks for any advice.

Hello, my main problem, and this site is starting to help clear a few issues out somewhat, is that my HR is way too high, and I can’t figure out what I need to do to lower it. as far as arp goes you need a base of around 700 before anything else is added as what i get from this site. ive also heard that most apr gear is in the higher end dungeons so you wont come across a lot. with that said it seems you would need 2 stack apr gems to even reach the base let alone make even the "soft cap" (read there guide on arp) before getting your hands on arp gear youd want as MM. do you need arp 2 be MM? no, but from what ive read it helps a lot.
as BM/SV im stacking pure agi. they may not be the best while BM but ive seen improvement none the less. Cat may be a ways off still but i dont like/want 2 think about all this extra stuff that wont be around later as it is now or even at all
will all the reading it seems like a hunter lvs as BM then start raiding as SV until a number of arp gear is found 2 go MM...

confused – you are 2% over the hit cap. a hunter needs 8% at least 2 “never miss”. as far as ive researched you never want 2 use hit gems unless u have 2 so start stacking agi gems and replace some of the unneeded hit gems. at lv 80 you shouldnt need many, or any at all.

as far as arp goes you need a base of around 700 before anything else is added as what i get from this site. ive also heard that most apr gear is in the higher end dungeons so you wont come across a lot. with that said it seems you would need 2 stack apr gems to even reach the base let alone make even the “soft cap” (read there guide on arp) before getting your hands on arp gear youd want as MM. do you need arp 2 be MM? no, but from what ive read it helps a lot.

as BM/SV im stacking pure agi. they may not be the best while BM but ive seen improvement none the less.
