So, despite doing 25-man raids for the last couple of weeks, last night was my first jaunt into Naxx 10-man. Most of the raiders in our guild divided into 10-man teams in preparation for Wrath, and it took a little while for enough members of my team to be ready.
But somehow I was more excited about doing 10-man naxx than I was the 25-man. Why? I suppose because it feels like you contribute more in the 10-man, that every person is more essential. We certainly managed to carry some dead weight in the 25-man runs, but that kind of thing isn’t possible in 10-man dungeons. So it was with an eager heart that we set about conquering Naxx!
It was a little rocky.
I was delighted to have Hrist as our MT, about whom I’ve spoken before. He logged on a bit after start time and the very first thing he said was “>:(” So we were right on track for the angry asshole tank to begin!
We ended up taking down Rasuvious, Noth the Plaguebringer, and Heigan the unclean. We had some messy attempts and overall our performance was pretty disappointing. We should have wiped a lot less and killed a couple more bosses.
But it did yield some excellent Hrist commentary, that I missed so much while he was a face-melter in BC:

Very, very, explicitely clear instructions are the hallmark of a good tank, no?
And then…

But in the end we had made our first foray into Naxx 10-man. We made progress. Those who had not been in on the 25-man raids got to learn some of the fights. And next time they’ll go faster.
Much happiness and congratulations were passed around at the end of the raid. Well, by most people.

Is this why I have no friends?
All in all I had a great time, just worried about some of the more “complex” fights in there…like ALL of the Construct Quarter.
I was literally laughing out loud at those screenshots. I’d be your friend.
I just wanted to post a comment and tell you that thanks to your tips I was at the top of the dps chart in my first 10-Man Naxx run. I had been extremely frustrated by trying to get my damage higher until I read your blog. Considering that half of my gear is still hateful gladiator, I was extremely happy to consistently be around 3K damage. Now, if I could just master the dance for Heigan the Unclean I would be a happy Nelf.
