We’re having a big Wrath party at my house (affectionately known as the Geek House) from Wed night to Sunday. One of the friends sent me an email asking what the plan was, and this was my response. I realized that this was a perfect example of my ability to see the future, so I should post it in the interest of science (names changed, of course):

The plan is to head over to the Geek House after work Wed, and set up our action stations, get some last second BC in, chew the fat, pick up fast women, drink the drinks, and then at midnight go to Gamestop and get WotLK. We then race back, install, download last second patches, and watch the server crash!

We stay up really late talking about it, then finally go to sleep. The next morning I have my last cigarette ever (actually two back-to-back) and we log on and start adventuring in Northrend. We instance as much as we can. Then Thursday around 5pm the servers crash again, but they get back online around 10 or 11 and stay up, if somewhat bumpy, for the rest of the weekend.

Dudeface joins us for the Thursday night crash and Friday gaming on, though he has to go spend some time with the GF, even though he’d rather WoW. J-Shizzle is there and playing but does not buy WotLK and instead hangs out and levels his 20 rogue. Nato joins us as well to play Kallo! He is bumbling and good natured about it; however, he does not actually camp out overnight at the Geek House like the die-hards do. Marcus joins us and camps out one of the nights, but has to miss about half the weekend total due to GF commitments. However, after some passive-aggressive fights he spends more time at the Geek House than he initially said.

Hrist tanks for us some, though he isn’t as dedicated to the weekend of wrath as we are. We are gracious and willing to step backward in our progress anytime Hrist is actually about and doing anything, and he promises us $100 each for the kindness, and agrees to visit this Christmas, play Werewolf, and not betray the entire pack.

We all end up at level 73 at the end of the weekend, but Frostheim is clearly the most badass character of the group.
