I have updated the Level 80 Hunter Gear section. Now everything points to the actual wowhead database rather than their beta WotLK one, and sure enough new items appeared in the database after launch so I updated several pieces of gear. I also put links to the wowhead searches on the Gear page so with one click you can get a list of all of the gear for that slot (not counting faction gear).
Most pleasingly I found several Jewelcrafting items that were best of slot for pre-10mans. Most of the crafted pieces on the list require a Frozen Orb, which you’re gonna have to buy off the AH and is probably going to be really expensive. On the bright side, those are also the pieces of gear that are going to last you the longest.
There have been some questions about how the gear is evaluated, and what weighting system was used, etc. I have my own nice and simple method for evaluating all the stats on gear, and I’ll try to post that system in the near future. But, for this gear, system doesn’t really matter. There is little enough to choose from that most of it is not a close call — one piece of gear is clearly, obviously the winner.
