Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited about WotLK. New content is exciting, and I’m excited about my guild’s plans to get back on track to progress more rapidly through raid content (we took a huge slowdown in BC).
But Wrath is going to be painful, and not just because I hate leveling.
The dirty fact of it is, I’m a smoker. And hunter is a good class to play for a smoker. When I’m in a raid and the boss fight goes south, the tank goes down, then the healers go down, then it’s a wipe — I can just skitter off to the side and feign death. I wait for the reset, rez the pet, and then dash out the side door for a smoke while the rest of the raid is rezzing or running back in.
However, I’ve decided that it’s time to quit.
My big plan is to quit on November 13, when WotLK is released. Along with a couple friends, I’m taking that Thursday and Friday off of work and will have a four day geek orgy of Warcraft madness.
And I figure that WoW is the perfect distraction to get over that first hump of quitting smoking. Stock up on food and soda before hand and camp out for a long weekend of pain and suffering and leveling.
So come Wrath, a little bit of the beauty and happiness will leave my life. Well, along with the filthy, stinky, nasty habit. But still, it will be sad.

Wow, that’s awesome dude. Lemme know if there is space in the geek posse barracks, that would be a blast. I won’t even be an elf for those days!
Hell yes there is space in the barracks, you are welcome to come! The more there are the more dispersed my rage will be.
Brave step Frost, great to hear you’re taking it.
As added incentive — if you cave we’ll force you to roll an elf.
And not with a Beatstick, but actually play one.
Lawl
welcome to the ranks of hunters who have quit schmoking schtogies.
Myr, he caved… Where is the elf, I ask you?
